"The contractor was very professional and did an excellent job. I only had some old paint, so he went and got a new can of paint at the local home improvement store. My appointment was delayed a few days due to circumstances beyond their control, and they worked with me to reschedule the work on a day that would work for me. I would definitely hire them again."

"I get them for everything they do. I know the owner personally, and I have used them for about fifteen years now off and on. They are not the cheapest folks in the world, but when they do a job, it is done right. I had some problems with one skylight outside the warranty period and the owner came out himself. He got up there, looked at it, and cleaned out some debris that had accumulated. He got a hose up, washed it down, and blew it all out. I never had a problem with it since, and that was two or three years after warranty. He assured me that it did not need replacing. They do not do unnecessary work. That impressed me. I like everything about their service and everything about their people. They are on time. They do what they say they are going to do. They are very conscientious. The workmen clean up after themselves. Anything you want out of a construction company, these guys do it well."

"I had excellent service, they showed up on time and got the roof repair done rather quickly. <br /> We currently have a one layer roof and could get another layer before we have to have to starting over all together. We decided to go with the repair along with other issues that needed to be fixed and wait to get the next layer at another time. I feel like they knew what they were doing and had seen other roofs they had done in the neighborhood, which looked really nice. I would hire them again and feel like I was getting the job I paid for. <br />"

"I cannot express how Carlos has been responsive to detail; not just coming at the designated time. He advised me of concerns I'd not before taken into mind with respect of the movement of furniture, electricity and cable access. He did beautiful work; there was negligible sawdust eventhough there was much carpentry to be done. The finishing touches (e.g., wall plate, cable, ceiling restoration) were perfect eventhough I'd never even considered it. I felt more than comfortable having Carlos in my home even when I was not there. He was beyond communicative; there was never a moment of doubt, even when he phoned me at the office to let me know my house's front door was WIDE open upon his arrival due to my daughter's forgotten "responsibility".. I truly believe that Carlos is beyond a handyman/carpenter/remodeler. He has evidence of his skills, integrity of his work and dedication to the craft upon which he places his name. I will NEVER hesitate to call upon Carlos for any type of job to be done within my home."

"I asked three different contractors for estimates to do this work. Two were responsive and provided written estimates (Bond Home Improvements said they would provide an estimate after scoping the job, but never did and were not responsive to f/u calls asking for status of est). Rick's estimate was clearly the most thought-out and well-considered. We added some items as the work progressed and other needs became apparent. The workers did a nice job and were helpful in making suggestions for improvements, which added to the overall cost of the project, but were ultimately a benefit to the how things worked out in he end. <br />"

"It was fantastic! They had a really organized crew. The guys set it up and knew exactly what they were to do, and they never missed anything. I called them and the gentleman came out and went over everything with me. He told me exactly what was going to happen and how it was going to happen. I had no problems at all. I priced them before and they were $1,000 cheaper than a couple of other bids that I got. The price was satisfactory, but I think they all charge too much."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Lonaconing, MD

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
