I’m a hardworking person who doesn’t like to leave projects half finished or looking sloppy, I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I’ve always fixed and built almost everything I needed myself and I take pride in being self sufficient. I’ve been an electrician for a year and half now and before that I was fabricating aerators for private residences. I have a wife and two children, so I can handle the chaos of a whole house remodel even if you decide to alter any details halfway through.

"It went really well from the start, I had a deadline that I thought was pretty tough, but J & R Construction wasn't phased by it at all. Jimmy and Josh both came out to discuss the details with me at the property and advised me on what they recommended I do and how the options would go. Then they went back to the office and estimated the project and got me an official written estimate. The job did not exceed that estimate and they met the deadline. There were multiple elements involved, electrical, ceiling fan, removal of a garage door, drywall, flooring, vinyl siding, a window, air-conditioning unit, etc. I'm very happy with the results and I highly recommend them to my friends and family for any of their remodeling projects so I also recommend them here on Angie's List."

"They remodeled my entire home (2 bed, 2 bath, kitchen, dining, living room). I needed a few room expansions, some new cabinets and appliances. "We were looking for a carpenter to add crown molding, base molding and moldings around doors and windows in our house as we are remodeling. We saw other good reviews for ACA Handyman on Angie's List and gave them a call. They answered our call, made an appointment and came early to the appointment! All things I have not had other do in the past. They were able to get measurements and a quote during the initial  appointment and we decided to move forward. <br /> <br />We had existing crown molding we were tying into in our hallway and dining room and the ACA Handymen were able to do so without being able to tell! They were on time each day, and although it took an extra day to complete, it worked out fine. We also had them hang a new door to an existing door frame and it looks wonderful. They had to widen the door hinges and added a door handle. There was one split in the molding on the window, but our painter was able to patch it with no problems and you can't tell it was <br /> <br />even there. <br /> <br />We are extremely happy with the outcome of moldings. We wish we would have known about them sooner to do other work in the <br /> <br />house! We will continue to use them on other projects and strongly recommend ACA Handyman to others! <br /> <br />"

"At first sight, it looked really good. Upon closer inspection there were numerous nail heads that were sticking out from the siding. I also had requested that 6" fly rafters be installed on the shed. It was obvious that the fly rafters were not 6" wide, only 4" wide. It was not long before one of the doors started to warp as well. The shingles at the ends of the shed were trimmed irregularly so that they were short in one area and longer in another. I called the owner, John, and expressed my concerns. He wanted to wait until the weather got better to make the repairs. I agreed to wait since this seemed like a reasonable request. In the meantime, two of the sheets of siding had actually some loose from the studs and the door warped so badly that I had to break the hasp in order to get into the shed. After the weather got better in the spring, I waited to hear from him about when they would make the repairs. After a couple of emails and a phone call he finally agreed to send some men out to make the repairs. Unfortunately, the weather became very wet and the repairs were postponed until it would be easier to get to my shed since it is pretty far back on my property. After a couple of months of waiting and more emails, a repair crew finally arrived. They replaced the warped door, fixed the shingles, and reattached the siding. They were supposed to have delivered a check for the difference in the price between the 4" fly rafters and the 6" fly rafters. This was not delivered. Upon close inspection of the new door, the trim that was used was of different thicknesses so that the trim joints were not flush. I called John, and emailed pictures, of this sloppy craftsmanship. He said he would send someone out to fix it , along with the refund check, as soon as possible. It never happened. I finally tired of having to call and email over and over again to try to get what I wanted. I caulked the bad joints and made them look as good as possible so that I could get a good coat of paint on the shed before winter got here. Others may have had a good experience this company, but mine has been nothing but one of frustration and dissatisfaction. <br />"
