"We recently moved into our house in Upper Marlboro and were looking to do something with our walkout patio, a 10’ x 17’ concrete slab. We considered brick pavers and various other design options and finally decided to simply expand the existing 10’ x 17’ patio to roughly twice the area and have the surface stamped with a flagstone pattern with a compass rose inserted. We spent a great deal of time considering various contractors, visiting showrooms, soliciting bids, etc. We chose Maryland Curbscape for a number of reasons, most importantly, because theirs was the most competitive, all-inclusive bid. Others submitted lower initial prices, but after adding stamping, edging, staining, coloring, etc., the prices were higher, in some cases, significantly. Initially, weather and various commitments made it difficult to arrive on a firm start date, but as soon as we did, everything went fine. On the start date Paul arrived ahead of his crew and marked out the area. His crew arrived on time and went right to work breaking up the existing concrete slab, excavating and leveling the area, and laying down a wire mesh. A concrete truck arrived later that morning and his crew shuttled wheel barrel loads of wet concrete (apparently contains fiberglass milling strands for re-enforcement, but I couldn’t tell by looking at it) from the truck to the back of the house where the patio is, then dumped, smoothed and leveled the concrete, let it sit for roughly an hour; applied an edge and the flagstone and compass stamps, and finally, spread a powder on top. The concrete needs to cure for at least a day and when they returned, they pressured washed the surface, painted the compass rose, and sealed the entire thing. Paul’s crew was courteous and other than the jack hammering and pressure washing, weren’t loud or obnoxious when they were working, and importantly, kept the worksite clean. The finished product is at least 3500psi industry standard, and we’re very happy with the finished product – indeed, we’re considering having the concrete pad in front of our garage and walkway leading to the front door done to match the patio. If we go that route, then we’ll definitely use Paul Joseph and Maryland Curbscape, so yes, we’d absolutely recommend him. Very pleased."

"Corey was terrific. He came to give the quote for new front porch poured concrete stairs, walkway, and a retaining wall with brick on the front face of the wall. The price was a little higher than other bids, but he presented the most professional ideas, demonstrated experience, and we were very confident with PVI. His crew was great, and they did a beautiful job. It was finished last November just before the weather got cold. We asked him back in the spring to trim up some of the concrete edges when were doing some landscaping and he came back out and finished it off. "Mr. DiFatta and his team came right on time and started to work immediately. They took up the old broken sidewalk and the broken piece of driveway and hauled away the debris. We had another individual come in with a mobile stump/root grinder to take out the tree roots which caused the damage in the first place. Unfortunately, this person did NOT do a good job, but Mr. DiFatta's crew stepped up and finished the root job and hauled away the debris from that as well. They put in a base of gravel and poured the concrete after the framework was put in place. Beautiful work and thoroughly professional. They even replaced the dirt on the sides of the walkway and seeded it and covered it with straw. We are thrilled with the results. Our costs were a little more than first quoted because of the extra work caused by the poor service of the stump grinder guy, but I still think it was well worth the cost."

"Everything went as contracted.  Very hard work removing old concrete and preparing ground base for new pour.  Job was completed in 2 weeks.  Finished project is beautiful and have had many compliments.  Jerry worked daily on site and is very knowledgeable.of his trade.  Ground around the work site was repaired, i.e. grass sods returned, holes filled with soil, and well cleaned, including street.  Having the project finished in April the ground was quite wet and very muddy, which added extra work, but Jerry and Matt overcame these obstacles with ease.
