"Jonesy lives in the next town and he happened  to have a little time free so he came right over an hour later.
I could not remove the blown bulb in the freezer. Frankly, I was a little embarrassed to call an appliance repair guy, but was glad I did.  He told me with newer refrigerators with electronic displays,  if the bulb breaks, it can short out the mother board and turn into a costly repair.  So I asked him to do it.
He had a tough time but was able to remove the bulb without breaking it.  While he was here, I had him clean the compressor and front grill.
He suggested that you always put a little Vaseline on the threads of the bulb to prevent this problem in the future. Clearly, the original bulb had been over tightened and, as I saw on line, is not an uncommon problem.  
He was very personable and offers a $10 discount to Angie's List members.  I will definitely use him again.

"Beautifully!!! We had an emergency - Thanksgiving eve and the oven won't light! It was late but Al and Bonnie came over to check it out. They needed a different part (because of a problem with a previous repair) and came back today - Thanksgiving - to do the actual repair. Thanksgiving is saved thanks to Al and Bonnie!!! This was about as seamless a kitchen renovation that one could ever hope for.  Dave listened carefully to the goals we wanted to achieve in our kitchen, and was patient with the design adjustments we wanted to incorporate as we considered each version of the design plans.  One cabinet in particular that was added toward the end of the design process was brilliantly conceived on his part--a cabinet to store large items that looked like a lovely piece of dining room furniture, with exterior shelving and drawers. It is a centerpiece in the kitchen.  Dave was careful to preserve important walk ways in our kitchen so as to not create bottlenecks--an important element in this centrally located kitchen.  His advice on style and color of cabinetry was also highly valued in our desire to achieve a cleaner and brighter look, yet one that was still consistent with our 1931 Colonial.

The Brookhaven cabinets are beautiful and well-made.  While they are pricey, Dave was able to steer us to take advantage of a manufacturer's discount.  The selection of hardware that was available without incurring additional cost was completely adequate, and we took advantage of this option.

Installation of the cabinetry was smooth and timely.  We decided to make a last minute change to the placement of our microwave, which necessitated the order of a new drawer.  This took longer than we had hoped, but understood that this was not a Kitchen Center issue, but rather one of the manufacturer, as each items is custom made.  When the drawer arrived, it was without a front--this added more time. 

Once the cabinetry was installed, irregularities were minimal.  Dave and a service that works with him tended to adjusting hinges, covering screw heads, and painting areas that needed to be smoothed. 

Overall, working with the Kitchen Center exceeded our expectations.  Communication and responsiveness were excellent.  They partnered well with our contractor so that there were no glitches or last minute surprises--almost unheard of for a kitchen renovation.  The quality of the design and workmanship has made for a space that we are loving, and our only regret was that we did no redo our kitchen sooner!

"We hired Todd for an extensive remodel of our home and couldn’t be more thrilled with how nice it turned out, how smooth the process was, and how helpful Todd was along the entire way. The project has been complete for a while, I am just now following up with a long overdue review. Downstairs Todd removed 2 walls including a staircase to create an open living space for us. Where the walls were removed, he installed 3 new support beams per the engineer’s design, and then wrapped them with rustic oak boards to make them look like original beams, and they turned out beautifully. He installed all new trim around the downstairs windows to match the rest of the house. Todd gutted our old kitchen and built an island for us, installing all new cabinets, crown molding, and the appliances. He even custom modified 2 drawers in the island so that we could conceal the electrical outlets behind part of the drawer panel but not lose the entire storage space of the drawer. He did such a great job with the drawer modification they look like they came that way from the factory. The entire kitchen turned out perfect. During the same remodel, we also hired Todd to combine 2 bedrooms into a new master suite. This involved removing walls, installing a beam, and installing new walls for the new master bathroom and closet. While the ceiling was opened up Todd noticed a drip coming from above on a rainy day, and after finding the source, he offered us a very reasonable price to replace a small section of siding to ensure we wouldn’t have any water issues. We are grateful he was so observant and willing to go the extra mile for us by fixing this issue that was not originally in our scope. In the new master bathroom the extensive amount of tile and the new glass shower enclosure that he installed couldn’t have turned out any nicer, all the lines were perfect. He took great care in his tile usage, minimizing waste with his cuts which we appreciated especially on the expensive tile he installed in a decorative strip. Todd was great to work with throughout the entire project and very professional day in and day out. Being such a large project, as it progressed there were several things we realized we wanted to add to the workscope while everything was opened up. Todd was very accommodating and gave us reasonable prices for each addition we threw his way. We appreciated his flexibility very much. Todd also helped us with various design considerations, and had some great ideas that helped us work with the engineer to get the upstairs beams laid out in a way that optimized our new space. He pays close attention to detail and worked hard to ensure we would be happy with the end result of the project. Overall Todd is a real pleasure to work with and we highly recommend him and the quality of his work."

"The diamond was recovered successfully and the drain cleaned at the same time. In addition, I would like to add that John has provided many services at my home over the years. I am thankful that he wears many hats and has been able to help me on each occasions --garage door, dishwasher, screen door repair and as mentioned, even in my time of panic, when I lost my diamond down the drain. "Alex and his team (Geoff - plumber, Bruno - electrician) did an outstanding job. Alex responded to my initial query to Angie's list within 10 minutes..... so fast! He then had the plumber, Geoff out there within several days. Geoff was superb. He replaced the disposal and sink faucet and drain, upgrading the plumbing to code in the process. Thus, the robustness of our plumbing was greatly improved by what Geoff did (bringing our plumbing to code required raising some valves, and converting some metal/plastic interfaces to metal/metal). We did run into one problem, which was that the disposal switch developed a short circuit. Alex quickly had an electrician (Bruno) come by. Bruno did an outstanding job, working quickly but improving the electrical box by adding an extra switch. Thus, once again, the entire system was improved by their high quality work. Geoff in particular ended up spending more time than initially anticipated, so the price was double what was initially quoted, but I felt that a lot more work was done than initially anticipated, the work was high quality, Geoff and Bruno both worked quickly and hard (taking no breaks), so ultimately I felt that the cost was well worth it. Very fair. Alex also manages everything from afar, and does a great job. He responds immediately to subsequent calls and has an excellent interaction style. I would definitely hire them again and strongly recommend them!"
