"The plumber that came out was awesome. Showed up within and hour and a half from initial call.  He made sure that the problem that he was called out for was corrected before leaving (which was a leaking toilet).   Overall service was prompt, professional, and upfront and would use again for any plumbing problems! Great Job HMS plumbing! <br> <br> <br>"

"I was hoping a cheap replacement part or adjustment was needed, but my old tankless needed an expensive overhaul to fix it and then it would still be old. The technician clearly explained options for replacing it with a more up to date model. So I went with that and got a nicer heater. Since I already had the pipes and gas line, it cost quite a bit less and went in vety quickly. I'm very pleased witb the professionalism and courteous service. Would definitely use them again."

"Had a pipe burst in my basement ceiling just before going out of town. I contacted F.H. Furr and Cropp-Metcalfe but neither returned my call. I called Gainesville Plumbing and they came to my house the same day to fix the burst pipe. This was much appreciated since I had to cut off all the water in my house until it was repaired. Service tech was right on time and finished quickly. The price was extremely fair and I wasn't charged any extra for the same-day repair."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Markham, VA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
