"Travis came out to my home did a great inspection and explained in easy terms what I needed and what he could supply. Installation of a central air conditioner and furnace was all done in one day! Travis explained how everything worked and made sure I understood my new equipment."

"In a pinch last night and in cold weather, my newer furnace was suddenly not functional so I was forced to reach out to Doty after hours. Clayton answered my call and patiently walked me through multiple steps to correct the issue. With newborn babies in the home, the loss of heat required urgent attention and Clayton exceeded my expectations. Although this newer equipment in a newer home was installed by another local HVAC company, I knew Doty from previous experience living in the area and was confident superior service would be provided. In each of three service calls for routine system checks of my HVAC, plumbing, and furnace systems, I couldn't have been more satisfied with the professionalism of the individual tradesmen or with the customer service communication provided by friendly and patient office staff. This review is being posted especially to praise the exceptional routine service call provided by John Courtney on 10/11/2021. John presented as being a good listener and one who genuinely enjoyed his work and serving others. For example, he listened carefully to my questions and responded with detailed information that I could understand easily. "Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Trever showed up on time and immediately began work after I showed him what part of the fence I wanted repaired. He repaired other parts that he noticed also. I have used TJM Construction for years and was always satisfied with their work. We discussed future work that I plan to hire them to do. I had to cancel a previous appointment with them because my husband was hospitalized and they were sympathetic and understood. Great company."

"We had a new kitchen sink drain line installed to accommodate a deep under mount sink, as well as a 75-gallon power-vent water heater and new drain lines under a laundry sink. The Great: Tom Hedlund, whom I spoke to a few times in advance to our service, was very responsive and helpful. I also can't speak highly enough about the plumbers who came out and completed the service. Adam and Donnie were everything one would hope for from service providers: Timely, courteous, friendly, worked efficiently, did quality, neat work and tested it upon completion, provided useful information, and cleaned up when they were done. My husband and I are pretty particular, and we feel confident that they did a great job! The Could-Be-Better: Our first interaction with Hedlund was a different pair of their plumbers who came out to provide an estimate on work. We did this because we didn't want any surprises in terms of expense, or the extent of work. The plumbers who came out for the estimate were friendly, but apparently not good at details. Most of the information they provided was wrong, including the fact that 1) our drain lines didn't need re-routing (despite my questioning them on that); and 2) that our water heater is natural gas (in fact, it is LP, but they never asked and never noted it). The only reason we didn't have a couple of nasty surprises on the service day is because I questioned these two items beforehand, so was able to resolve the details over the phone, and they were able to change the water heater order before it was too late. In summary, the work we received from Hedlund was excellent, but the guys who provided an estimate need to work on their attention to detail."

"During early Dec 2013, during one of the coldest winters in Michigan in 30 years, my furnace was having trouble keeping the house warm so I called Grand Ledge based Aire Serv to do a furnace check-up based on a coupon. They came out quickly and found a crack in the heat exchanger on my 20 year old furnace and shut it off, saying it was unsafe to run. Apparently it was about twice the BTU capacity than needed for the house and the constant shutting on and off had taken its toll. I was not the original owner so I am not sure why they over-sized the furnace.
I asked for quotes on a new furnace on the spot and they tried to sell me a $17,000 furnace and said no enough that the price came down to around $6,000. I really didn't like the very rehearsed sales pitch. It was so focused on how much better their warranty and service was compared to others that I knew it would be pricey. I really wish they had just laid out all their models and the features and prices and just let me pick my comfort level in features and prices rather than a sleazy sales pitch. I recommend you force them to skip the sales pitch and go straight to the facts.
I didn't have time to shop around and the house was very cold so I purchased one that night. They left some infrared heaters at no cost to help keep at least one room warm. I really appreciated that they offered to work a Saturday so we could have heat as soon as possible. They installed everything on time and as promised and were very nice. No complaints on the install experience at all.
I went with a two-stage Amana furnace at half the BTU of the previous furnace. It had no problems keeping the house warm during the rest of that very cold winter. I like the two-stage motor and have to set to always run on low when not heating or cooling. That keeps the air moving through the house for more even temperature and greater comfort - it really is noticeably better than on/off heating.
The exhaust venting couldn't go where they planned due to an unseen obstruction and so they had to vent it somewhere else that was a longer run and required extra work to get outside of the house. They did the extra work at no charge as promised.
Bottom line - they are an excellent company that did high quality work and kept all their promises and gave me an excellent product that fit my needs well and did it all on a tight timeline.
My only complaint is that since I was without heat, I feel I had to pay full price.But that is not their fault - that was mine for letting the furnace go bad and creating the emergency where I couldn't comparison shop.
When they sent me the post-installation survey, I sent a full response equivalent to what I have written here. They never responded back to me.
