"We we were completely satisfied with our experience at Advanced Granite — from the time we walked through the door and met Shelby until our installation was complete. We purchased a remnant piece of granite for a new vanity we had installed in our guest bathroom - a small project to say the least. Everyone at Advanced Granite treated us like we were their best customer. Great quality product and work."

"Love Tile & Marble’s owner, Kevin McCall, is the superman of tile! He truly saved the day. He has a meticulous eye for detail, fantastic customer service, and the quality of his work is second to none. Kevin and his crew turned our nightmare bathroom into the nicest room in our house. From our initial consultation to our handshake goodbye, Kevin was as professional as it gets. At the end of every day Kevin and his crew cleaned up so well you would never know we were under construction. What struck us the most was Kevin's knowledge and skill, and the pride all the guys at Love Tile took in their work. We could not have asked for a better experience and our only regret is that we don't have any more rooms to tile!

We originally hired another company to renovate our bathroom. After 8 grueling weeks of unbridled incompetence, we had what amounted to a junior high shop project. Our original contractors left with the job half done and the bathroom was a total mess. We needed help and needed it bad, so we found Love Tile on Angie’s List and Kevin came out the next day. He clearly knew what he was talking about and his professionalism immediately put us at ease. The estimate he gave us was quite reasonable, too. Kevin brought in a crew to remove the old tile from the floor and walls, reframe the shower stall, and rebuild the walls. He brought in a plumber to help sort out the mess the last crew made as well. Once the old mess was removed Kevin worked his magic tiling the shower stall with ceramic tile and a glass mosaic border and marble shelves, as well as the bathroom floor. We are so thrilled with the outcome and love our beautiful new bathroom!

"I was in constant contact with them,by phone, before  the installation. I was nervous about what I had chosen and was invited to take my time and go to the showroom to see it on a larger scale. Measuring day and day of installation the crew were prompt, very clean, very professional. Everything was covered during installation and they happily answered any questions I had.  There was a very small problem with one of the countertops fitting correctly. It was immediately taken care of and a new countertop piece was made and installed within a few days.  My kitchen is absolutely beautiful!  They were so easy to work with and very accommodating.  I highly recommend Granite Transformations in Berlin NJ."

"I left a very good review for the first job Van did for me in summer, but unfortunately I can’t do the same for recent work he performed in my house.  Van came to do an estimate and gave me good price. On the day of installation he sent his new team that seemed to be less experienced than the previous one, to install the floor. He didn’t come to supervise them like he unusually does.  When he came the next day to collect a full payment and check on the work his guys did, he said it wasn’t done right.  Not only it wasn’t done right but the installers chose not to complete the work. They said they would come back to finish it the same week but I haven’t heard from them again. Before the last floor installation they also installed my new kitchen cabinets.  Took them a very long time (job was spread for several weeks, although could have been completed in 2 days). After installation my new cabinets didn’t look as new any more.  They were dented and scratched.  Van said that he will replace scratched doors but he never did. Some things he refused to do at the end, although they were on his original list. Quite a few of my nerves were wrecked during their presence in my house, and I almost got electrocuted opening the refrigerator after they moved the socket. Now I have to hire new people to finish the floor installation and fix things Van did wrong."

"Generally speaking our experience with this company was good.  The service in the showroom (harrisburg office) was very good and the price was competitive.  There's a bit of an issue with communication given that you are dealing with folks in harrisburg and all the labor and materials are coming from king of prussia.  When the countertop was installed it was discovered that our salesperson had forgotten to order the faucet.  This was a significant issue as we already had the plumber scheduled to install the faucet the following morning after which the township staff were coming for the final project walk through.  We ended up running to Lowes that night to buy another faucet so that we could complete the project on schedule.  Three days later, Colonial dropped off the now superfluous faucet.
We had a full backsplash installed along with the countertop and when the workmen installed it they scratched the countertop edge.  The company was perfectly willing to come back and buff the scratches out.  At this point they had been to my house 5 times and I was pretty ready to be done with this project.  But in the end we got exactly what we wanted at a reasonable price.

"An excellent experience from picking out the countertops to installation. The customer service reps and installation crew were courteous and knowledgeable. Pricing was excellent. We actually thought we were going to pay double the price. The job took less a week from beginning to end. Our kitchen looks beautiful!! We would recommend KOL Marble and Granite to anyone looking to purchase new countertops."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Middletown, DE

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
