New paint job and wallpaper application. Restaurant Floor and Bar: Travertine natural stone tile behind our buffet line which created a very nice natural and chic atmosphere for the restaurant. Removal of carpets and install of new floors. Removal of old paint on brick walls and application of new wallpaper. New paint on walls and brick walls. New trim and new wall panelling for a classic and polished look. New bar countertop and table tops that were handmade by Giovani with live edge feature. "Created Laundry Area in an unused closet on 2nd floor of home.  Required demoing existing cabinetry to widen the doorway, re-framing the door opening, installing new door, in addition to Water,  Electrical and Ventilation.   Did so without opening walls and ceiling and ripping out newly installed beadboard in powder room below, something none of the other bidders for the job said they could do. When the Plumbing sub "disappeared" there was another qualified plumber on the job the next day. Work was completed on time in the agreed upon manner with a beautiful well functioning outcome , all according to Building Code  and the work passed all inspections first time.

 2) "Remodeled" basement bathroom.  Actually demo'd most of the semi finished side of the basement including the three separate freestanding fixtures floating in the semi-finished DIYstyle  basement in a terribly inconvenient location and created an amazing  enclosed 3/4 bath in the area where the laundry had been including a neat and clean finished hallway and  a separate furnace room. Andersen and Pedro offered multiple options for addressing our needs. They took the time to explain the pros and cons of each option. They worked tirelessly to find creative, cost effective work arounds so that the finished  product was something they and we could be proud of.

They also cleaned up much of the extraneous wiring, pipes etc. that the previous owners, ardent DIYers left behind. Again all the work was completed to code and though it was not completed exactly on time the majority of the delay was due to occasional lack of availability of the various building inspectors  Don't want to distract from the point of this review, what a fabulous job Five Star Remodeling did but know that prior to engaging Five Star we had several really unpleasant experiences with other contractors related to this same job who wanted to cut corners or were fuzzy about costs or expectations for finished products.  If you have high expectations you will be very happy with Five Star Remodeling."
