"Wonderful experience!!! The rush seat in my beautiful antique rocking chair caved in when two of the dowel rods broke. I inquired at a local furniture refinishing shop and the price to repair it was so high, I decided to hold off. Months later, I stumbled upon one of Rebekah's fliers at a local antique mall and was thrilled to find that she could repair my rocker...and for a fraction of the first quote. She's located in Indiana but her father met me here in Cincinnati to pick up and return the rocker. The workmanship and price were excellent--I would highly recommend Rebekah's services."

"Everything was completed in a reasonable amount of time. At that time of year (March/April) they were very busy with many customers experiencing similar problems due to the excessive rainfall. They probably lost about three days in completing the work due to the heavy demand on their services. hey were very prompt in arriving the first time to set up the equipment to dry-out the basement. I had replaced the sump pump, so the standing water was gone when they arrived."

"The Woodshop employees did everything that we requested and made suggestions as needed.  Mark Moran, the general manager, worked closely with us on planning the entertainment center.  He is always professional, courteous, and straightforward.  He does not try to upsell, nor shortchange a person.  What really suprised us is that he even included us in such decisions as what kind of knobs we wanted, providing us a catalogue for our selection.  We received other estimates for the entertainment center from other places.  Not only did The Woodshop come in at a considerably lower price, they used solid cherry instead of the cheaper grade of wood that the other businesses wanted to use.  The finishing touches delighted us, along with their quality work.  Dave Sanford, crafsman, did exemplary workmanship on our entertainment center.  He was even able to match the stain on our new entertainment center to coordinate with our cherry kitchen cabinets.  <br /> <br /> Rick Eales was the employee who installed our grab bars, and worked on boxes for lowering our high bed, as well as a rail.  He was extremely considerate, cleaned up any materials prior to leaving our home, and also produced quality work.  Rick Eales made suggestions for placement of the grab bars which was extremely helpful.  He also made sure that they were installed in studs.  <br /> <br /> The Wooshop employees we dealt with are professional, and kept us involved in the process while working on our projects.  Their were no unexpected modifications or surprises to upset us.  They arrived as scheduled and on time.  They are reasonable in their pricing. We felt comfortable with their employees coming into  our home.  <br />"

"<strong>***IMPORTANT***</strong> When you invest thousands of dollars in a piano, I highly recommend any consumer do their homework.  It took me 8 months to find the right company and my research paid off.  The following review reflects my efforts in locating Lindeblad Piano and total satisfaction since then. <br /> <br /> <strong>It was critically important that I find a business that:<br /> </strong> <ol> <ol> <li><strong>Has been in business for a long time and Better Business Bureau approved</strong>. A family-owned business for 80+ years with a BBB rating of A+ told me they had experience and gave me peace of mind.  This increased my comfort level in dealing with a business more than 200 miles from my home. </li> <li><strong>Stands behind ALL their work</strong> - While warranties can vary cases by case (usually 10 years) I received a 20 year warranty on all workmanship and parts, which was better than I expected.  They also met a competitors' 10-year warranty on the soundboard.  FYI Steinway only gives you 5 years on a <em>new</em> piano. </li> <li><strong>Restores Steinways</strong> - I plan on keeping this piano for decades and I wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing with such a high-end instrument.  Of the 120+  pianos restored last year, more 75% were Steinways. </li> <li><strong>Could answer tough questions</strong>. During my 8 months of investigating piano retailers and restorers, I spent a half day at a Steinway dealer in Boston to hear their argument of why I should <em>not</em> buy a restored piano.  I did expect a hard sell for a new piano but some of their points and literature were compelling.  Aside from using the Steinway parts, they said that setting the bridge height is the most difficult and requires the elite expertise of a Steinway restoration technician. When I asked if I had a Steinway that I wanted restored, they said only the Steinway factory was qualified to restore a Steinway.  Lindeblad patiently answered ALL my questions. Additionally, the Lindeblad business is in its  4th generation with the original founder a former builder at the NY Steinway factory. He passed down this craftsmanship (including authentic Steinway parts and the proper bridge technique) to his family. </li> <li><strong>Pleasant to work with and accessible</strong>. To be frank, I wanted a company that appreciated my business.  This means that if I had a problem, I could get a hold of someone and have my problem resolved quickly. Ultimately, I found that Lindeblad met and exceeded expectations.  The end-to-end process at Lindeblad is a model that all businesses should aspire to - from the sale, planning, restoration process, to the photos of the finished product and delivery, they wanted to make sure I was completely happy - not just satisfied - with everything.  Each member of the family had their own skills and it was a pleasure to work with each of them.</li> <li></li> </ol> </ol> If you're in th market for a piano - at any price - I know you'd be happy with their work and service.  However, my opinion is less important than your peace of mind. I recommend asking any member of Lindeblad every question that comes to mind until you have no doubt. <br />"

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Milton, IN

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
