"I probably will not get the job done but they were very helpful. I wanted the table top refinished so I wouldn't have to use a tablecloth and it would be water repellent. They can do that. I sent a picture with the dimensions of the table and they responded with an email giving me the estimate. It was all done online and I didn't have any contact by phone. It wasn't a good or bad experience and I am not sure I could tell what they are like."

I chose Grahn's originally because they gave me the choice of buying fabric through them or purchasing it on my own. <br /> Most re-upholsterers  require you to purchase fabric through them, at fairly steep prices. One company needed me to make an appt. to accompany them to International Market Square in order to pick out fabric, which seemed inconvenient in terms of time and cost.  <br /> Grahn's offered three different levels of repair for our pre-1900 platform rocker, allowing us to choose our level of investment in the piece. Since we planned to use the rocker in our baby's room, we went with the option to create a removable cushion for practicality in cleaning. In general, they met our preferences and needs at every turn. Al came out to our house to provide the estimate. They told me how much fabric was needed so I could purchase the fabric I wanted, and allowed me to ship the fabric directly to their store. <br /> They offered the option to deliver the chair when it was finished. And they finished the chair two weeks ahead of schedule. <br /> The cost to re-glue and reupholster the chair was significant, but totally in line with the quotes I got from other upholsterers I investigated, AND Grahn's gave me the flexibility to bring in fabric, which allowed me to save significantly on that part of the cost. <br /> Most importantly, the end result is BEAUTIFUL. They did an excellent job of woking with the large pattern of the fabric we chose. Since the chair is so old I was concerned about working with someone who had experience dealing with antique pieces and Grahn's craftsmanship was exquisite. <br /> I would definitely take other upholstery/furniture needs to them. <br />"

"Great. Tony, the owner, came out and gave me an estimate the day after I first called. He picked up the pieces on 6/12 and delivered them on 7/27. He couldn't reglue a cracked piece of wood between the legs on the desk. He replaced it instead. The finish is a perfect match. He didn't charge me extra."

"Terry is AWESOME and very knowledgable about wood working/refinishing. We inherited the furniture and it was in bad shape. My first thought was to take an axe to the pieces and use for firewood, but Terry saw the quality in the furniture and highlighted the quality and design features as well as helped illustrate what the finish product would look like. We called a couple other refinishing companies, but quickly went with Terry based on his knowledge. The total process took around 3-months to complete (we didn't need the pieces back in a hurry) including reupholstering the seats. At the end, we were blown away by how wonderful the finished pieces looked! The same set-up would have cost us twice as much brand new and knowing we have great furniture that has been used by 3 generations is fantastic. <br />"

"AMAZING EXPERIENCE WITH MATHIDA! On 6/17/21 I had the greatest experience at the HOM Furniture/Gabberts location at Little Canada! This is the first time I can confess that I had FUN furniture shopping! As I walked into the store, I was expecting to be bombarded and have salespeople following me around (like a majority of my experiences). However, I was warmly greeted by Mathilda. I quickly told her that I was looking for a living room set and that I would find her when it was time. She was so bubbly and full of friendliness that I abandoned my “I’ll find it on my own” attitude to seeing what was possible with Mathilda. Mathilda asked great questions to determine what I was really looking for and took the time to guide me through the store. She knew that I was frustrated with an experience with another chain so she did some research as I continued to look. By the time she returned, she had prepare some recommendations of sets I should look at. All of the choices checked off a majority of the things I wanted AND she had already checked to see if they were in stock and availability for the delivery date I chose. Mathilda found me a set that was PERFECT and found me a great deal on a TV console that fit the set like a glove. She worked with her manager (who was equally delightful) to waive delivery (since I already had a date for a dining room buffet purchased a week prior) and gave me a nice discount on the TV console since the manufacturer is no longer making that particular model. We have always purchased furniture from HOM and have more to get for our new home once we move. I will definitely be back to visit Mathilda soon. She made the experience the best I’ve ever had (I’m 50-something and have shopped a lot for furniture) and her personality, presence, and her care and compassion, has forever won my business with HOM forever! If you are looking for an over-the-top experience in the somewhat painful furniture shopping experience, make the trip to the HOM Furniture store at the Dock 86 facility and ask for Mathilda.
