He arrived with a complete package/brochure which included a letter of introduction and an unsolicited list of references of work completed within our local area. Randy was very patient with us in trying to decide whether to use cedar or pressurized wood to support the deck as well as our seasonal porch. On the first day of work, a three man crew arrived with Brandon as the lead team member. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and quiet as they worked for the next five days. They were extremely tidy in cleaning up during and after the work product was installed. We would definitely use their services again and recommend them to others. A job very WELL DONE!"

I have to share my 1st attempt on hiring the right guy for this project. It consisted of me getting a couple recommended contractors from others and thought I was good. Instead it was terrible, to the point where we mutually agreed it was best for them to remove the decking and poorly installed addition and walk away. Naturally I cautiously interviewed several more deck builders before deciding on MN Construction.
From the 1st call, Trevor impressed me. He made time out of his busy schedule to stop by or take my calls. He gave me an clear overview, answered questions and concerns from the last guy's work, explained why when asked, left samples, etc. He suggested deferent designs and product over others and why, building my confidence quickly. After we traded a few emails/texts, my decision to go with MN Construction was an easy one.
During the project, with a crew of 3, progress was made quickly. They were efficient, hard working, and asked questions when needed. The results are more than we expected to get because of his recommendations and I know our deck with last longer because of the quality of work/product they used. When I'd point out this or that, boom done, and better than expected. After interviewing several and hiring a couple, it's hard to find guys like this out there. You can bet they will be getting another call from me on other remodel work and I have already passed their name on.

She provided me with a very thorough estimate, worked with our insurance agent, and even gave us an excellent price on having some add'l work done at the same time (stairs and porch railing for the front). She was extremely patient with my incessant questions, and her crew were CRAFTSMEN, not just fence guys. The work they completed was far beyond anything I expected in terms of quality, promptness, and soliciting feedback from me. "Hal's work is top-notch but I grew increasingly frustrated with the timing and inconsistency of his work habits. His was one of several estimates I received and basically he said he would beat any estimate I received. The difference is that everyone else was going to use cedar and he only works with pressure-treated Southern yellow pine, which is less than half the cost of cedar. I was unsure of the durability and longevity of that product so I did extensive research online. Still unsure, I drive around the Twin Cities to see other jobs Hal did that gave stood the test of time and I decided to move forward. Clearly, the way he builds his fences require considerably more manual labor than those built with cedar posts and pickets so essentially instead of paying for the higher cost of cedar, you pay for increased labor costs. Unfortunately, Hal isn't as going as predicting when he will get jobs complete as he is completing them well. He was over a month late in getting started and I repeatedly had to call him to inquire about the delay. It was quite frustrating but since I didn't absolutely need the fence done by a certain date, I decided to practice patience. Once he finally started, most days he and his helper only worked 4 hours so the project dragged on far longer than I thought it would. Admittedly, there were a couple of weather-related days but other times when it was a perfect day, they wouldn't show up and I would give no idea when they were coming again. After I told him I really needed to have him be more communicative, he was and within a short time after that conversation, he completed the fence. The fence is beautiful and appears very sturdy. We'll see how it withstands time and weather but for now I am very happy with it. Hal does beautiful work but if you are on a strict timeline I would not recommend working with him. If you are flexible and don't mind putting more effort into communication, he is a great person to work with.

"The only thing I was dissappointed in was that the deck has a rough finish, but I suspect that was due to the previous sealing that was done by someone who wasn't experienced (family friend).  This guy said they could buff it next time, so that's OK.
They were very responsive to a spot that appeared to not have taken the stain as well as the rest of the deck surface; they came back right away and resolved that."

"It wasn't cheap. The materials were used were a good quality. The workmanship was excellent. The suggested design was good. The only problem we had was there was a delay in construction, which is common in this area because of construction, they had to go to finish another area and come back for our deck. The cost was fair, I would say cost wise the materials and the quality and the design. It was a very fast job. It was done in 2 days and it could have been in 1 day. The plan was good too. Responsiveness is a B because of vacations being taken during this time of year. I would use them again, in fact we may have them do some additional work."

"Adrian and his crew did a fantastic job. I was originally going to side the house myself, but I found summer dwindling and my time short. I called several companies and Adrian had the lowest cost, and could do the project with specific siding that I had picked out and already matched paint to. Adrian sourced the siding product, and set a start date. Much to my surprise, Adrian soon called me and said they could get the project done even sooner and started the next day. You will have his personal cell number, so accessing him for any concerns is easy. Thanks!"

"We chose Hoffman Weber to replace our roof for a couple of reasons: 1) They helped us with all of the issues associated with our project, which included replacement of the shingles, two flat roof areas, special flashing, coordination with the skylight supplier and some interior trim repair. 2) Their representative Joe Wire is both very personable and knowledgeable.
