"I no longer recommend Kinetico to my friends after this last service call.  My water softener system and drinking system are both less than four years old yet I have spent over $300 in repairs.  My latest service call was to replace the salt brine tank.  It had to be replaced because it was "frozen" because I used a salt the tank had not been set up for.  It does bother me that no one had ever mentioned or wrote down what salt I should or should not be using in the system when it was installed.  I just bought the salt I knew from our last home.  I also found out another service call I had paid for had been under a recall, so naturally I called Aquarius to question charges.  I was told I received a "free" $89 service call and that is why I didn't receive anything for that recall.  When I questioned further, the ?free? service call was when Aquarius had come out to find out why my water softener was not softening the water.  Nothing had been done at that visit except tell me I needed a new salt brine tank and someone from Aquarius would call to set up an appointment to install that new tank, which by the way, a week later, I had to call Aquarius and set that appointment up.  Still happy with my Kinetico systems (now that it is back working), just not all the money I have had to pay for the repairs.
