"I had great experience just few days ago with PicturePerfect. Danny and his son Josh exceeded my expectations. They totally transformed walls of my kitchen from boring off white paint to a rustic whitewash brick look. The wallpaper was placed absolutely seamlessly from bottom to top throughout entire kitchen. "Brick" look is so genuine that it makes my kitchen look like a stylish urban eatery. I highly recommend PicturePerfect for their great professionalism, and craftsmanship."

"We have used this contractor several times in the past and his service has recently been declining. This last time we were really disappointed. He quoted a price for the above work and completed about 75% of it. We paid him in full and then he did not come back. When we asked him when he was planning on finishing the work he was unresponsive. When we finally got in touch with him he said he was booked up for the next week and wouldn't be able to finish the work.  (He left a room unpainted, caulking incomplete, paint tape and tools out, and didn't power wash a door. We also had paint splatters from some painting that he did complete on a darker colored wall.) As I said before, he was usually very professional so this time we were disappointed. <br />"

"Amazing. I can't recommend Joe and his team highly enough. From the very first, Joe was consistently responsive- showing up with very little notice on a Saturday and patching our initial roofing problem at no cost the same day. It spoke to Joe's integrity and I knew we had found the right contractor for the job. Joe was able to bring in a roofer, and a contractor who did an incredible job with the drywall. Everyone was on time and worked within a more than reasonable budget. All in all, our young family is grateful to Joe for bringing some normalcy back into our lives."

"We live on a hill, with a set of steps to navigate the front yard, that end in a landing at the bottom. They were destroyed in an accident. Steve and his crew at SS Creative were the contractor I selected to repair the work. They did an excellent job matching the new construction to the old construction. Although I didn't expect it, they finished the job on Christmas Eve! I intend to call them for future projects. Excellent craftsmanship!"

"Hooshang and Robert were excellent.  The price was very reasonable and much less than a competing offer I received.  During the free estimate, Hooshang immediately knew what I was looking for and provided the estimate quickly and professionally without trying to up-sell me.  Today during the installation, he and Robert arrived promptly and did excellent work.  They were professional, courteous, and the result exceeded my expectations.  They knew their business and finished slightly ahead of schedule while still providing me with all of the information I wanted and needed for future touch-up work. <br /> I whole-heartedly recommend them and their work.  Great price, great work. <br />"

"New roof was put on our cape cod, southernwood completed the work in a day, scheduled it perfect for the weather 2018 was a wet summer. Roof turned out great. There were a couple minor fixes that had to be done a few months after installation, didn’t matter southernwood set up for a service team to come fix. Their service team was very professional as well as very informative on what they where doing to resolve the situation at hand, I am not a roofer and it was nice to kind of get what was going on. Would recommend to others. Thank you SouthernWood Roofing"

"Ray and his team did an awesome job replacing our deck! We collected three estimates from various companies and C&R’s estimate was by far the best value. We were very impressed by the quality of the work. They worked with the county to get the permits and inspections completed and were very efficient. We felt like we got a superb quality deck for much less than other Northern Virginia contractors were charging. I am glad we chose to go with this family-owned business. It felt like we got the product we wanted for a reasonable price and didn’t get “the run around” that larger contractors give you. Our neighbors have given us so many compliments on our new deck! Would definitely recommend them to others!"

"There is no doubt that we picked the right architect for the job. As one can see from the before and after pictures ? Seth is an incredibly talented designer.  He responded to all of our needs (big and small) and was an excellent advocate for us throughout the entire project. Having completed a project of this size we now realize how important it is to have an advocate for the design as well as for the process. Seth made our dreams a reality.    <br /> <br /> Transforming our 70?s colonial home to meet the needs of modern living would be a great challenge. We considered a long list of architects, but after meeting Seth ? we agreed that he was the right person for the job. Seth Ballard understood our vision. He was easy to communicate with and we found his fees to be reasonable. For us, Seth made the design phase fun. He always entertained our ideas, received them with enthusiasm, and, when possible, quickly incorporated our ideas into the design.  There were two existing limitations that had to be designed around ? our existing home and a county restriction on our lot. Neither of those restrictions compromised the design. The final design was beautiful and much more than we hoped for.   <br /> The bidding phase was a necessary exercise for us, however if we had to do it again we would not have done it since there was extra time and cost ?a result of putting the project out to bid to multiple contractors.  In this process we were looking at cost and accountability.  We met with all the builders and reviewed all their bids.  All five bid proposals were within the dollar range Seth gave us before the project even went out to bid, and with Seth overseeing the project all builders would be accountable to Seth. So while we became better educated consumer through this process ? we went with the builder that Seth originally recommended.   <br /> <br /> It turns out that Seth's relationship with the builder is what is most important.  Because our project was so complicated it required a lot of management.  We are grateful that Seth micromanaged the entire project. He made sure that his design was completed as drawn.  Unfortunately,  we had a few considerable unforeseen condition, lucky for us Seth was able to skillfully navigate a solution.  He was able to get the contractors to agree to do the repairs at their cost and incorporate an added a design element that enhanced the entire project!  <br /> <br /> In the end we believe that Ballard + Mensua's fees were recovered by provided us with two very vital cost saving things: 1. A design and plan that was so fully developed resulting in just a few change orders; and 2. An ability to advocate for us when issues and unforeseen conditions came up.  <br /> <br /> We love our house!  We would use Ballard + Mensua again without hesitation.  Through this process we learned that the most important qualities to look for in an architect is his ability to deliver the design ? and his ability to advocate for that design and for his client!"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Montross, VA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
