"Had Groundworks install a drainage system and sump pump in our home’s crawl space. Anthony and his crew, Jordon, Uriel, and James were Outstanding. It was a three day job. They were on time every day and worked their tails off each day. It was a muddy job in cramped quarters. They never complained. Anthony kept me updated on the progress they made each day. Anthony shared pictures of the job as it progressed. They cleaned up the job site each day. Anthony went over all the details at the completion of the job and answered all of my questions. The whole process was Great. From the initial inspection done by Kristy to the office staff and the installation. The communication was also Great. I highly recommend Groundworks for a complete and thorough job."

"Had huge foundation problems at a project of mine on the waterfront. We used terrafirma to both waterproof the entire basement AND lift the foundation. 10/10 would recommend. extremely communicative, very knowledgeable, and even brought a crew in from Oregon to help us stay on schedule. Oscar and jorge got the job done extremely quickly and Seth was fantastic as my project manager. "

"I booked an appointment 2 days prior to the visit on 5-25. The appointment was for 8A to 8:30A on the date of this report. At 9:15A I phoned the office to be told there was a mistake and I was scheduled for Saturday. I requested service and received a service unit staffed by a trained, professional, young man at about 10:45A. I asked the gentleman to give me an opinion on my use or misuse of the septic system and to inspect component parts with recommendations. He did exactly what I asked advising me of some sections of the system to be watched in the future. His cleaning was precise and no material was left when he was done. I supplied him with a garden hose and he washed the sides of the tank completely making it look virtually new. Finally, I asked about his opinion of the use of additives and while he did not talk down about such items he advised that based on what he saw, I didn't need any chemical help to maintain my system. I highly recommend this company which was dispatched thru LDL Enviro Services although it said Drain Pro on the truck."

"I was impressed on how well they worked, how careful they were with all details. There were some small misses (like they put the traps, but forgot to put bait in them :)). This caused them to delay the final install by a week. But in the end I liked how everything looks now, my crawlspace is squeakilyc lean and even smells good :) And there was no rodent activity in the past month, I checked and all traps are empty. Not the cheapest offer, but I liked the way they work."

"Western Construction Systems came out and did exceptional work at my house! They went above and beyond my expectations! They were friendly, professional, and hard-working! They took care of all the issues that I had concerns with and then some! Their prices were fair, especially for the high quality of work that they did! I know I pestered them with questions, but they were patient every single time. Before I contacted them to have the work done, I had high anxiety about the drainage issues. When they were finished, I felt confident that there were no more issues. Peace of mind is priceless!"

"Our garage sits at the bottom of grade, and water would come in the garage during a heavy rain.  The old drainage system no longer worked, and there was no way to dig a new drain.  So Pete drilled a four inch tunnel under the the house into the back yard. Then he pulled a 4 inch continuous plastic pipe through the tunnel!  Amazing to see.  I suspect it took more time and material than he planned, but he did not complain or raise the price.  Considering the equipment he brought, the price seemed more than reasonable. <br />"

"They did a fantastic job. The process truly is no-dig. They did it all through the cleanout. They installed the new sewer line. They explained every step of the process to me, and at the end, showed me the new line with the remote camera. Everything is sealed up. I had a pretty bad rat problem because the break in the old line allowed them to tunnel to the surface. The rats are gone, and the new sewer line is perfect. They also replaced my neighbor's line on the same day."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Morton, WA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
