"A+ from start to finish. I have a newer build that is just over 4 years old and the deck had untreated wood used that rotted out an 8x8 support post and several of the joists. Clarence, the owner quickly responded and was out the following day to take a look at the project. He was very kind and honest and said he would have an estimate within 2 days. He had his deck builder out the next day, the estimate (very reasonable) the following day and said they could start the project the same week. You quickly learn in the OBX that getting an estimate for a project this time of year is a lengthy process let alone getting the work scheduled. I reached out to 4 vendors (including Gibbs), and 2 never responded and one was way over-priced. If the project isn't large enough, the not so great contractors will lie and tell you they'll get you an estimate and never respond. THANK YOU to Gibbs Daughters and Clarence for delivering a new beautiful deck with a very reasonable price and fabulous service. Watching your craftsmen work as they did was very cool. They are quite skilled and great at their trade. I will now only reach out to you for any work that is needed on my home. Thank you so very much!"

"Jimmy communicates well and does top notch, high quality work. He stands behind his work and has been excellent in helping us maintain our 1911 home. He does beautiful custom carpentry and wood work. We have used him for several projects over the past few years, including a bath renovation and have been very pleased with the outcomes. "We consider ourselves fortunate to have found this company since after a big storm it can be difficult to even get anybody to come out and give you an estimate. Mike returned our calls promptly, showed up when he said he would, did an excellent job for a fair price and on top of all that is a nice guy. What more could one ask for in a contractor? Just 3 days after the new roof was completed an even bigger hurricane (Matthew) hit. A few shingles on the northeast side that had not yet had a chance to fully cure in the heat of the sun were blown off but Mike came right out and took care of it. We definitely will use American Home Improvement and Remodeling again and in fact have already scheduled some deck repair for this spring."

"I would highly recommend this business.  We had them come and restain the deck and at first just powerwash the house.  They scheduled the work right away.  After doing the pressure washing, there were some areas with paint chips under the soffit.  Mike offered to repaint those for free.  During this, they noticed areas of the soffit that were rotten, so we had them repair those areas of the wood.  They also fixed a few screens that were damaged during the pressure washing for free.  
Everything turned out great, and we are very happy we had this work done.  Mike and Crystal are very professional and easy to work with.  I will be having them do some more work on our house in the near future.

"This husband and wife team is first rate. We had a banking issue at the start of our project. They could have easily said it wasn't their responsibility to help me retrieve the money, but they didn't. They created a loyal customer as a result. And the work quality was second to none. I got quotes from two other providers but theirs was the best in terms of scope definition and price. The only thing I would like to see is more responsive comms, but I also understand how hard it is to balance "front office" work with the project work for a small business. And David works 7 days a week. If he makes a project commitment, he keeps it. They are delightful people who I am looking forward to working with again."
