"Would recommend and use again. Flexible with scheduling. Courteous and professional with service. They took the time to explain to me what they were doing and why. They also educated me on what I could be doing myself on an ongoing basis to preserve the life of my garage."

"The whole process went extremely well. Workers came bright and early. Professional, courteous, and friendly. Communication with Fred was ongoing. In fact, we're now looking to redo our posts on our front porch. Fred is helpful and knowledgeable in choosing just the right colors to flatter your home. He also sent someone over to discuss new garage doors. Few days later, they were installed and they look great!! Excellent service and people who take pride in their work unfortunately at times is hard to come by, but we got it with Zykan. We're beyond satisfied and they are our go to for anything further we decide to improve on our home. ?"

"It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I was not overly pleased. I did not hear from them for a week or more after I purchased it so I called them. The guy was on a roof and was supposed to call me back. That didn't happen for 3 or 4 days. He said he would call me back because he had several more jobs lined up. It took a couple more phone calls. It took them a long time to get here. I have a very small house so what I was paying was really not that good of a deal for me. The price was the same no matter what the size was. As the winter has progressed, it appears that the work they did wasn't really that great. My soffits are basically coming apart and the down pipe of the gutter has come off already. I would have thought that reattaching a down spout on a gutter would have been part of them cleaning it."

They are very responsive so when you call you get a service person almost immediately, which is pretty amazing for the area we live in. But, they don't cover as much as they say they do. For example, out garage door opener broke and we called out a service person. He said it was due to water damage and we are in a drought. It is hanging from the top of our garage and there is no water in the whole garage. It seems incredibly stupid and if I were to contest that I could have another service person come out and if they found the same thing I would have to pay that, too. So I could just buy another garage door opener for that amount of hassle. It is not as comprehensive as I had hoped it would be. They don't have great customer service when you call to set up your account, but when you go to get a service that is where they really shine. In terms of setting up this policy I think if I signed up I was going to get a $25 Amazon gift card and my dad was supposed to get one too but it took us about a year to get it. Nobody knew what we were talking about. We signed up under that offer and nobody knew anything about it. In terms of when something breaks there is someone out the same day or next day. I think it costs between $35 and $45 a month. For that amount I can have about 8-10 covered appliances. All the service providers they have sent have been really great.

FAQs for garage door opener installation and replacement projects in New-Memphis, IL

A chain-drive opener costs less, but it’s louder and needs more upkeep. If your budget allows, a belt-drive model is often the smarter long-term buy, especially for an attached garage with a bedroom above where noise matters. The decision between a chain or belt opener comes down to your budget and needs, and your garage door opener installer can help you choose an option that best suits you.

Choosing the right horsepower for your garage door opener is crucial for safe and efficient performance. Your garage door’s design and material determine the required horsepower. A single-car garage demands a half horsepower rating, while a two-car garage requires a rating between three-fourths and 1.25 horsepower. Selecting the proper power level ensures optimum performance and durability over the life of the opener.

Plan on a quick garage door tune-up once or twice a year. Tighten the chain or belt, lubricate moving parts, test the safety sensors, and swap out weak batteries in the remotes or backup unit. A few dollars in lubricant and 30 minutes of work can fend off costly repairs, keep the door running smoothly, and help the opener hit its full life expectancy.
