"I found Brothers Masonry through Angi (Thanks Angi!). Tim, Matt and Crew were excellent. Started with free quote. They were a couple months out and we set a date to rebuild Masonry walls (from a building fire), Rework Door Thresholds (to add a traditional garage door), and remove an old chimney. Matt even called the night before scheduled work was to commence to reconfirm. The team finished the job in 3.5 days and even patched a hole in my floor next to a door that wasn't in scope. Came in slightly under quote which helps the budget (we did not wind up needed as much replacement block). Great job guys, Thank you!"

"Very smooth install. Ed was nice, personable, and timely. He installed the solar lights efficiently and correctly. And they function perfectly. Fee was very reasonable as well. He’s agreed to install similar lights next weekend at our daughter’s home located about 10 minutes away. We’re in the market for a new handyman, so would not hesitate to contact Ed again. Thank you."

"The job went extremely smoothly. From estimate to clean-up and completion, there were no times when we worried about the process or the result. This was a 3 story attached home multiple skylights roof lines and we contracted it with our attached neighbor. Both sides were extremely happy with how the work was done. Bradley Builders were punctual, prompt, and professional in every aspect. Our neighbor felt precisely the same. We would hire them again should the need arise."

"Utmost did a great job in getting my house back into shape! My home is ~27 years old and was at the point in time when repairs were needed. Chimney was failing (spalling of bricks, failing chimney shoulders and mortar), Cedar siding rot, and a couple of deck boards needing replaced. When looking for a company to complete my repairs, I always base my choice on a combination of price, quality and customer service. After getting 3 estimates from 3 highly rated companies, I chose Utmost due to fact they had the ability and skills to complete all the projects versus just the fireplace repair. Mark was timely in coming out for initial review, provided more than one solution to repairs with pro's and con's to each, and provided a written estimate in timely manner. The teams started and completed all work in committed timeframes even with additional work being required for back deck due to identifying additional rotted planking. Work performed included: 1) complete teardown, rebuilding and sealing of chimney 2) Replacement and painting of ~100ft of cedar siding, power washing, and sealing brick on front of house and 3) Replacement and painting of 4x6 deck flooring on back stoop. Teams were responsive and cleaned up after each days work. Thanks for the work Utmost. Mark - Hopefully I do not need you again, but if so I will definitely hire your company.....Thanks, Matt"

"My chimney was deteriorating and after struggling with it and a leaky roof for the past several years, I decided to make the plunge to have it fix once and for all. After receiving recommendations and reviewing Angie’s list, I asked 7 companies for bids and 4 responded. I had the first company take pictures so that I could see the problem(s) first hand, which proved to be invaluable for subsequent bids and discussions. One said for $500 he’d stucco the old chimney and “if” that didn’t stop the leaks, he’d recommend I get the chimney replaced. I sent pictures to Integrity Masonry and asked for a bid to either fix or replace it. Upon reviewing the photos, Arnold Pack, the owner, sent me a bid in April to replace the chimney. The third company offered to do water seal, crown coat, & flashing seal for $707 but could not guarantee the warranty on water seal treatment without my purchasing a flue liner for $879. REALLY?!?! In mid July, the last company interviewed recommended the chimney be torn down and rebuild for $5,475 & ‘recommended’ the flue be lined with an aluminum flex liner for $815, or a stainless steel liner for $1,375 – total cost $6290 or $6850. Of course, I did my due diligence regarding the “liner” and found it wasn’t necessary for my situation. After 4 months of bids, discussions & more aggravation, I contacted Integrity Masonry, accepted their bid and they began the first week of August. In a word, this is a GREAT small business! The Integrity Masonry crew pictured below (Jeremiah [Arnold’s son], Billy, Tim and Arnold ) are amazingly hard workers, and really good guys. They dismantled the old chimney on the first day, carrying all the old bricks off the roof in buckets, removed 2 clay flues that were broken, then cleaned off the roof and other debris before they left. Arnold bought me three different sets of bricks and I selected the color that I wanted. As the guys began dismantling the chimney, I showed Arnold the ceiling leak inside the house as well as the chimney clean out cavity in the basement, which he emptied. He didn’t think the chimney caused the leak, then sent in one of his crew, a former roofer, who was also skeptical that the chimney was the case of the leak. During the course of dismantling the chimney and examining the roof, they found that water was getting in behind a downspout, seeping in and around some loose roof tiles and oddly angled areas that were hard to get at and hadn’t been properly sealed. The next day with bricks and clay flue liners in tow (having scoffed at the notion that I needed either an aluminum or stainless steel liner), the crew built the new chimney in one long and hot summer day. Since the black chimney cap screen which I already had was in good shape with a little rust, I got some Krylon metal spray paint and Arnold gave it a few coats which prevented me from having to purchase a new one. Finally, since the leaky roof still needed to be addressed, on a subsequent day, Arnold returned with the roofer, and having figured out what the problem was, spent the good part of a third day doing this repair which was above and beyond the chimney work, for which I paid an additional $125. And thus far, no more leaks! Whoopee! THIS OUTFIT IS ONE OF THE BEST-KEPT SECRETS IN COLUMBUS. Integrity Masonry is ABsolutely FABulous! The guys worked hard and the price was more than fair! Salt-of-the-earth guys with an honest day’s work ethic. You can’t get any better than that. I will definitely hire Integrity Masonry again. Kudos to them!"

"We chose to go with Correy Fletcher and his team because we were impressed with our initial meeting with him. He brought visuals of his work in the past and as part of his estimate, sent us a visual rendering of what our patio would look like with our chosen colors/styles For the actual work, Correy's team was on-time, friendly, and professional. The project took longer than anticipated because of weather conditions but Correy was very communicative about the delays. All parts of the contract were fulfilled. A nice touch that we appreciated is that they pressure-washed the driveway to clear it of tractor tracks, scuffs, etc. The only feedback we have for this project is that we weren't thrilled about the large open corridor between the stairs leading down to the patio and the foundation of the house. We didn't know this would be something we didn't like until the end of the project. We highly recommend future clients to consider what they want to do with that space (keep it open or close it up) and remember to bring that up during your project estimate."

"I needed to replace my front brick steps from Brick to Concrete. We have been running into loose bricks, pretty much after each winter, to the extent that I was concerned about safety of visitors (my brother-in-law fell on a loose brick). Chris and crew showed up on time (like 1 min early!). And they did a great job taking all the bricks out and pouring concrete instead to give us a peace of mind and a good looking concrete steps. Throughout the process, Chris explained to me what is going on in detail and answered all my questions. I probably asked him the same question a few times and he patiently answered my questions. Chris is a master mason with specialty in concrete. He knows what he is doing and does it well. He is humorous, generous and a gentleman. Chris (personally) spent a lot of time power washing other areas of my pavers even though that was not part of the deal. I offered to pay him for it but he refused and said "I just want the place to look gorgeous when I leave. I highly recommend Chris and his team for any concrete / cement work."

"GBR Masonry did an amazing job. We had a large patio and walkway that had cracked mortar and uneven bricks. When they finished two days later, it looked brand new. The original patio was installed in 1941. They did an amazing job of matching the mortar And attending to every detail. We could not be more pleased with the final result!"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in New Albany, OH

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
