"In all my years of hiring various contractors for work done on my own place, as well as for work done at some properites I managed for many years, (30)I have never had such excellent work done by any conractor. Not only did All Dry Basement honor their written estimate, they went beyond several times on other things not covered, but related. This was all done in Covid times. All workers were always unfailingly polite, respectful, neat, organized, prompt etc. Fill in the words of your choice for attributes that you would look for in a contactor, and you have a picture of All Dry basement people."

"The Expedient Team was terrific. they arrived when they said they would and installed a sump pump into my basement. The guys were knowledgeable and experienced. We talked entirely through the job in advance and agreed on what was going to be done. The guys totally kept to that plan and completed it within just a few hours. They explained the whole system, how to operate it and what I should expect in the coming weeks, months, years. I will definitely, be hiring these guys again for the next round of basement work."

"We have a Ranch house built in 1970. At that time, I installed two sump pumps to deal with water issues. Although the pumps and their replacements have worked over the years, there were several issues. First, the sump holes are far from being attractive. Second, the plumbing is a kludge and not up to code. And, there was no backup in case of power failure. I investigated several contractors and decided to go with Kinetic Basement Solutions. This is the best investment I have made in years. Greg and Jason are the co-owners. Greg gave an estimate to replace my two sumps and encapsulate my dirt floored crawlspace. The price was great so I signed a contract. Greg scheduled a start date. Although the start date was delayed, Greg kept me informed of updates. Once the job started he checked in frequently via phone to inform me of schedule changes and work progress. Jason also stopped by often to check progress. The staff worked hard every day and left the basement and garage clean. The crew consisted of a senior guy with two to three helpers. The finished products are outstanding. Each sump has room for two pumps. This is for future room for a backup pump. Each pump has a battery backup. The sumps drain into catch basins in my back yard. The encapsulated crawlspace is clean and bright. Greg is passionate about his product and company. The work was outstanding and the installation team was professional."

"I called Flow Rite after pulling up my Angie's List and researching all the plumbing companies and reading a lot of the reviews. After speaking to him on the phone, I was confident in my choice. Chris arrived 1/2 hour early and in no time knew the exact location of the blockage. (didn't even snake yet)(Prior to calling him, I spent hours snaking with zero progress) Chris explained everything he was doing as he did it, happily, if I might add. He cut a section out that was so packed full of YUK and cleaned the pipe very welll with a big power snake. The nastiness that came out made me wonder if this drain had EVER been cleaned since the house was built in 1935. (I've owned it for 3 years) My drains are all clear!!! I couldn't be happier with my decision to call this company. You do not need to pay outrageous money to have excellent service and quality work. Chris was very personable and clearly loves what he does. I asked him to take a look at some other drains on the other side of the house, for future updating. I will absolutely have Flow Rite complete the work. Honest and reliable. I couldn't be happier with my choice to call them. When he was finished with the work he gave me a price less than half of what I expected. Flow Rite and Chris can count on me to recommend them to all my family and friends, even strangers. You will not be disappointed with this choice. Call Chris at Flow Rite! Save yourself the stress and save a lot of money!"

"Matt was an absolute pleasure to work with! He is very knowledgable, and explained very clearly what had to be done to remediate mold in our summer lakehouse basement and gave an accurate timeline for the project. Matt stands out from most other contractors I've dealt with in that he was always punctual, communicated throughout the project and responded to any of my emails, messages or phone calls within a day. The work was top notch and I am very pleased with the results."

"I can't say enough good about Stone Industries and Dean Burdick. My house has two septic system and both needed to have the outlet pipes replaced and 1 system needed a new distribution box. I am in the process of selling my house and it has been complicated due to the buyers being on the West Coast and the buyer's original inspector was rude, incompetent and erroneously recommended replacement of both drain fields. The buyers were obviously concerned after this incorrect diagnosis. Dean came out, got the information to quote the right repairs, and was even willing to speak to the buyers to put them at ease that this was the appropriate remedy. He also was willing to have a third party inspector out to witness the repairs if the buyers wanted. He was great to work with! The buyers are happy, I am happy and the deal is finally proceeding after much aggravation caused by the incompetent inspection. These guys were awesome and saved the day."

"Excellent Exterior & Decks did great work. Unfortunately my previous deck was installed improperly without any flashing and my house wall where the deck attaches to the house was completely rotted out. They removed all of the rotted wood and completely fixed the wall before building the new deck so that they had a solid wall to attach the new deck to. They placed two types of flashing on while building the new deck assuring no more rotting wood issues. The new deck is beautiful and very solidly built!"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in New Lebanon, NY

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
