"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"I would strongly recommend Applied Technician Services for any appliance service. They would be my business of choice even though I did not use them this time. My dishwasher stopped working and when I reached out to them, I was able to get an appointment within reasonable time. A technician followed up the same day and after asking me a number of questions recommended I purchase a new dishwasher, saving me time and an unnecessary additional expense, This was very refreshing and they now have a strong advocate."

"We were told the work would take six days, discounting the problems with the counters, it would have taken three weeks. Work started on February 12 and was completed May 2. At one point we were without a kitchen sink, dishwasher and stove for six days for no valid reason. Tile floor - best part of the job. It came out very well but only after we insisted they grind edges of large tiles cut to make smaller pieces for the pattern. This to match the manufactured edges of the ordered tile. Silestone counter tops - Installed four times, first three were either cut incorrectly or did not color match. Owner refused to fix the problem after the second installation until Angie's list and I wrote separate letters. I never saw the owner again after that disagreement. Stove - once installed after all other work, the stove was a quarter inch higher than the counter tops. I was told that was "normal" and the gap was filled with a carpet floor edging and glued to the stove. Slate backsplash - First installation was fine. The joint between it and the counter tops had to be removed to allow for the last two counter top installations. The final work was rushed and not nearly as good as first done. No one ever seemed to be in charge or have a working knowledge of what was to be installed or where. One day the general foreman was working on the stove connection while a worker was installing tile where none was to be installed. Ed, the general foreman is very good and competent, however, he is spread very thin. Very little attention was paid to the existing surfaces. Tile and other building materials were stored on finished surfaces. The walls were gouged and door moldings were scratched and dented, needing repairs by owner. Coffee and tile grout cleanings were sprayed on walls and doors. In the new sink, the disposal flange inserted to match the sink color created a puddle in the sink. The owner said this was normal and most customers didn't complain about sink puddles. He also said the insert would not last long anyway. Lori, the office manager was often helpful, but she has since left the company. Angie's list was helpful in getting the company to properly install the very expensive counter tops. I would not use this company again, nor recommend it to my friends. They require the owner's constant attention, frequent phone contact, and vigilance, since they exhibit little vigilance. While they employ their own crews, on at least two occasions, one of the crew was here on his first day."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

"They have always fixed the problems that we've had. Frustrations? Delays? At times. We live in a flawed world. But overall, service has been professional and well done. It has always been worth the monthly fee and deductibles. If you consider that most appliances today only last five years or so, breakdowns are going to be a given. Our most recent repair will require at least two service calls and an $1800 part. That more than pays for our entire year's fees."
