"They did the well for our house and took the well down to the deepest they could before going to a larger pump size. Smart. We also had them drill a return well for our open loop geo-thermal heating and air conditioning system. The return well can't take the estimated return quantity of the water as estimated so it overflows onto the ground. That has always made me nervous, but it works fine. It just gushes into the woods and is absorbed into the ground. Never freezes. I wish I had done a closed loop geo thermal. But that's really a problem due to lack of experience by the geo thermal system installers, not the drillers fault. (Appolo Heating of Schenectady put in the geo thermal system due to their releationship with our builder. AZtech in Balston Spa is the local experts in geo thermal systems). Explanation, a little off topic: I believe it is costly to constantly run the pump into the geo thermal system just to return it back to the ground. A closed loop system, while slightly less efficient than an open loop system, costs less to pump the liquid in a circle rather than constantly pumping fresh water from the well. Hawk helped steer us toward the open loop system but ultimately the Geo Thermal installer was responsible for it. I give high marks all around to Hawk. I had Hawk quote a water filtration system to remove iron bacteria and I wish I had hired them for this project. I didn't hire Hawk as I got a much better quote elsewhere (25% lower). HOWEVER, the person I hired low balled the price and it ended up the system cost just as much in the end when he had to add on extra equipment that wasn't in the original quote. So I wish I had stayed with Hawk. I feel bad about that."

"<p>Hanson Well Drilling and Pump Company was very impressive from the time they set foot on my property until the time they left. They drilled the new well and had to install casing all the way until they hit course gravel at 185 feet which yielded over 50 gallons per minute. This was quite a difference from the 400 feet originally thought. They then installed the submersible pump and made all the plumbing and electrical connections in the house. They repaired the ruts in my front lawn caused by their trucks and drill rig and smoothed out the soil in the work area. Tom, Tommy, Joe and all their employees were professional, friendly, courteous and very helpful. I would gladly recommend them to anyone needing their services.</p> <br />"

"I had a sewer backup that flooded a room in my home. I had roto rooter dude out to my house 3 previous times in the course of a year to unclog my lines. I tried to reach out to rooterman but he was too busy. I hopped on Angies List and looked up plumbing. Farrell bros is what i decided to go with but was hesitant due to the F ratings. Their plumber Mike, i think it was mike (Marine Veteran) was at my house in less than an hour. He snaked and cleaned out the line, but he found what rooterman had missed! He saw that the trap plugs were rotted out and replaced them. Then he used a camera to scope out the line and i found out i had a broken Trap and a belly! How did the Rooterman miss this three times?? Mike ordered me a part and replaced the broken stuff and was very kind. Both of us were Marines so we bonded a bit over that i think. Anyway, he offered to get me an estimate for digging up and replacing the sewer line and told me about the financing. I may or may not go with them for that big job, i haven't decided yet and am trying to find a cheaper solution such as getting a excavator in there and exposing the pipe then calling Farrell in to replace. One thing is for sure, i wont call the rooterman anymore! Mike from Farell is a great plumber. Ignore some of these other crazy sounding reviews, i can tell you first hand that these people are legitimate."

"I called the after hours line and talked to someone immediately. Within 10 minutes I got a call from a technician and he said that he could be there within the hour. I described the problem and we both agreed on the phone that the hot surface igniter wasn't working and that was the issue. I asked if he had a replacement in his truck and he did. I had checked lowes and home depot websites and they had none and due to after hours no HVAC stores were open. I asked him to come it would be a $150 service call plus parts and labor, I agreed. He came and performed some quick diagnostics, he confirmed there was no continuity on the hot surface igniter and replaced it. This took about 25 minutes in total. The surprise was the bill. I had looked up the part as I previously mentioned and it was a $25 part. When I got the bill there was the $150 service call fee as I expected but the parts and labor for 25 minutes of work and a $25 part was $250. The total was $400 plus tax. I made a comments about the $25 repair costing $250 but didn't push the issue. I was very grateful for the fast response and quality of service having my heat restored in under 2 hours after hours on a holiday week in the beginning of winter. I was just taken back by the cost of such a small repair. Had this happened during the day I could have gotten the part and replaced it myself but due to the timing and not wanting to go the night without heat we were stuck. I thought the markup was very steep at $225 for half an hours labor pus a $25 part."

"I know others have complained about the price and so I contacted our local water testing company for costs. My local company wanted to charge me for individual testing of all the things Environmental was charging me a flat fee for. With my local company I was well over $600 to cover the same testing Environmental was doing for around $200. They sent me the bottles to ship my liquid in and provided me with a free shipping container to send back to them. I didn't have to pay the return postage. I think the entire transaction from placement on Angies List to a report in my hand was about a week or week and a half. I called the number they gave to have someone go over my report with me, which was great. We did have to mitigate a few issues based on the report. Overall, I am completely satisfied and will probably used them on a  yearly basis or so for our well testing. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in New Lebanon, NY

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
