"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! We just had a French drain installed along with a new sump pump and pit in our basement and had the floors epoxyed afterwards. The project manager, Kenny, was absolutely amazing. From the very beginning he explained everything that their team would be doing, gave me updates throughout the day. If I had a question or concern Kenny was patient with me and continued to make sure any questions/concerns were addressed, even telling me to call him if I thought of any other questions. Their crew was very respectful of the property by making sure to lay out tarps to protect the floors, and made all attempts to manage the noise since we were home. Whatever was left in the basement they made sure to cover and protect. And if something needed to be moved they moved it and moved it back. When it came time to lay down the epoxy there was a scheduling hiccup. Kenny though went out of his way to make it right by coming right after another job and staying late to make sure we're stayed on schedule since I was having out of town guests coming that weekend and needed access to the basement. Working with Select Basement, but especially Kenny, made this one of the best experiences and I highly recommend them. 10 out of 10!"

"From the initial phone call to the completion of the job Quality 1st provided top notch professional service. A couple points which makes this easy to write. Communication is key whether in person or via telephone and Q1 was exceptional in this regard at every point. Telephone conversations with customer services was pleasant and cordial, never rushed or snotty. Paul our salesman was here for quite a while answering questions and assessing our needs in the basement. Of only was he on time for our appointment he was about 10 minutes early too. The cost of this project was a good chunk of change for us but after too many times of shop-vac’ing water we knew it was time to bite the bullet and move forward with making life a little easier and not have the issue of when will we get water in the basement again hanging over our heads. I was impressed that Quality 1st uses their own products and has their own R&D facilities. As for the installation, enough cannot be said for the crew that was here. I got the call at 9am they would be here in 20 minutes and at 9:20 they were backing in my driveway. I met the foreman Mario and his 2 helpers. We went into the basement and they looked around and asked if I had any questions. We had almost everything out of the basement and what was left they covered in plastic. By 9:50am they were running the jackhammers. We have a 1,500 sqft ranch and these guys worked all day, they didn’t stop and worked their tails off. I can’t remember exactly when the jackhammer stopped but by 2 pm the channel was dug out and they were beginning to lay out for the channel that carries the water to the sump. About 4pm Kyle showed up to assess the job and see if I had any questions or concerns. We spoke about the job and we went downstairs to see the progress. He stayed on site for about 45 minutes after making sure I was comfortable with how the job was going. By 5:15 or so the job was completely finished. Before they left Mario went over everything regarding the sump system. As far as cleanup, this is a dusty job. Concrete dust is ultra fine and they did a fantastic job of not only sweeping but they also dusted off areas which were not covered in plastic. They left no mess to speak of., I was very satisfied with their work and attention to detail. It’s easy to nitpick any job at anytime and there is nothing I would call them out on. Finally as for the functionality of the sump system I wish I had a comment on that at this time. We’ve lived in our house for 25 years and until around Thanksgiving of this year (2018) we’ve only had water about 4 times. Between Thanksgiving (2018) and New Years (2019) we got slammed 4 times and nothing since. With the symptoms of how our basement got water, I feel comfortable with the system Quality 1st installed and am confident they will stand behind their work and warranty. We’re also happy this is transferable to the next homeowner when we sell the house and it is an excellent selling point when the time comes."

"I cannot possible say enough good things about Ed, Chris, and their team.  I dread dealing with contractors, we have probably held off on getting this work done for a while because I can't the thought of dealing with them!  I spoke to 3 other contractors for this job and it was evident Ed was the only one who truly cared.  He was not the cheapest, but was worth every penny.
Ed has restored my faith in his profession.  He was courteous from the first contact. He arrived promptly to measure for the estimate.  He was open to whatever we wanted and provided additional wonderful ideas to build upon our vision.  Ed provided the 3 quotes for different options soon after his initial visit.
Once we chose our plan, he went above and beyond to help us pick the right materials for the job.  Both him and Chris drove all around NJ looking for the perfect cultured stone for our steps to match with the pavers we had chosen.  It was evident they truly cared about creating a perfect job for us.  Communication was constant throughout the entire process, and my calls were answered immediately every time.

They went above and beyond, even caring for issues I hadn't thought of originally, including making sure our drain was re-routed properly, and electrical wiring for our outside light was set correctly.
The entire work crew was highly professional and courteous. They even made my 3 year old smile every day. I will definitely be using them in the future and highly recommend their work to anyone.

"Nick and team were extremely helpful, informative, responsive and did exactly what they said they were going to do (and even better when they said they were going to do it). Nick was very reachable via email and was more than willing to help. I hope to never need a foundation expert again, but if I do I know that I would definitely have them do the work."

"Mr. Fernandez and his team delivered a beautiful, functional space in natural stone and bluestone. We spent about 3 years evaluating and planning how to deal with some drainage issues on our property that were making our yard area largely useless. We had areas of constant mud and wetness, even through hot august droughts. The kids couldnt play in certain areas without losing sneakers in brownie-mix mud. And flash flooding was problematic with every summer thunderstorm to make it worse. We had an engineer (a relative) draw up some plans for drainage that would remedy the situation. It included a retaining wall along the property on a hillside, extensive drainage across several areas of the property, and ripping up previous drainage lines installed by the previous owners that couldn't handle the water (it turns out they were done horribly wrong).
We interviewed about 7 lanscaping companies, and got written proposals from 5, describing the requirements outlined by the engineer and our wish list for cosmetic improvements that would make the yard more usable and give us more space. Two of the 7 insisted the engineer didn't know what he was talking about and wanted to put in much lower capacity drainage; and one would only give a verbal price, wouldn't put it in writing. We dropped those. Mr Fernandez estimate was right in the middle of the estimates, which ranged by about 50% from highest to lowest. But what stood out about Mr. Fernandez estimate is that he proposed, at that middle price range, a bluestone patio and natural stone walls with bluestone caps. Everyone else proposed pavers and techo-style block walls. The most expensive proposal was proposing bluestone and quot;styleand quot; pavers. It seemed insane to me to use concrete pavers made to look like bluestone for more money than actual bluestone.
We had a very good idea, design wise, of what we wanted to do, in addition to the drainage engineering. I will note that some of the other contractors brought CAD diagrams etc of what they were proposing. Mr Fernandez doesn't do that. But in the end, a pretty piece of paper doesn't balance out to me the look of pavers vs. natural stone. I'm not sitting on my blueprint having a BBQ, I'm sitting on my bluestone patio.
We selected Mr. Fernandez, based on price and also based on the fact that he did a co-workers bluestone patio and sitting wall. I got to see his work and I was impressed. We did go back and forth several times on the contract to ensure that it was clear and detailed enough for my detail oriented personality. (I am quite picky) Mr Fernandez crew started within two days of our planned start date (rain delays on his previous project pushed us back a little).
One they started, Mr. Fernandez' crew and equipment were there on the job, without fail, from the start of the project until 95% done. HIs backhoe, equipment truck, a concrete tumbler, and at least one dumptruck were on site the entire duration of the project. His crew of between 6 and 12 people were there at least 6 days a week, including saturdays and a few sundays, from 7:30 AM until 5. We had a one day rain delay, and one weekend they had a social event and he told me ahead of time. There was never an issue of and quot;we returned the leased backhoeand quot; or and quot;we can't do X because we're waiting on a piece of equipmentand quot;. They came in like an army and worked tirelessly. This was a pleasant surprise, as I've had the experience of the contractor who shows up, demos part of your house, then disappears for a week and a half before they start working again. The last portion of work they did leave before completing, which was just to reinstall the handrails, and they were back in 3 days to finish that and do the final walkthrough. The entire job took about 5 weeks.
Mr. Fernandez himself was a pleasure to deal with as a contractor... he is even keeled, communicative, accessible, and just simply easy to deal with. Definitely not one of the barking, know it all, constant excuse contractors I've had the displeasure of dealing with on other large projects. He dealt with the inevitable surprises that arose without any issues, and we were able to add additional work to the project (cosmetic items that we held off on to see how the core work looked) without any issues.

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in New Vernon, NJ

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
