We also had a substantial landscaping project underway, but Lashaun and his associate Thomas worked around the other workers that were at our house, breaking out the hard hats when tree branches came down near them. After the installation was complete, Lashaun walked my wife an I through the operation of the system until we were familiar with the process. A definite bonus. "They showed up on time and went straight to work. Set up all wiring through the walls. I was missing parts for my surround system so they could not finish setting it up. They told me what which parts to order and to call them back when it arrive. About ten days later the parts arrived and i called them and told them that the parts had arrived and when could they come back to finish the installing. I always have a minimum of 3 estimates when I have any work done on the house.
What I wanted done: Run 3 Cat 5e cables from my media coset under the house to the sun room. One cable was for a wired home network and the other 2 were used to run a HDMI cable over 130 feet. This would allow me to mirror what I was watching in the living room.
By the time I came across Squirrel Squad, I already had 3 estimates on the job. The name of the company made me laugh and he didn't have any reviews so I figured there would be no harm in getting a 4th estimate. When I called the owner, Dustin, was very polite. I was in shock when he was able to provide an estimate on the same day as I called. When he came he was very professional and listened to what I wanted to do. He was very observant and pointed out what he thought would be the best way to accomplish what I wanted done. He even noticed that our family took shoes off in the house and without prompting he took his shoes off as well. After I had discussed what was to be don, he went under the house to do an inspection. Of the 3 other estimates I got, the inspectors looked at the crawl space through the opening but did not go in. After he got out he said he could do it for 200.00 and gave me a 10% discount for being in the military. I was happy with the price as it was almost 100 less than the lowest quote I had at the time. I accepted the offer and we agreed on Saturday morning when he would do the install. I liked the fact that he was willing to work on Saturday when it was convenient for us as my wife and I are both working. With twin 4 year olds and a two year old we have very busy schedule during the weekdays. He showed up on time and ready to work. The install was done in 2 hours and he cleaned up after his work. He even took out a vacuumed and swept the areas he worked. After he was done, the area was cleaner than when he started that morning. I have never contracted any work where I was this satisfied with the job. Thank you Dustin and thank you Squirrel Squad.
