"Ryan did a fantastic job roughing in my post frame building for a bathroom and running a gas line extension from my house. The project had a small window to get the work done, making scheduling a plumber difficult. Citywide arrived on time and provided a professional service and product, rolling with changes that popped up during the build. I will definitely call on Citywide to finish the plumbing in the shop next year and to help with any other future work in our house! I will recommend them to my friends in the area!"

"Broken sewer pipe was 14 feet deep and they had to dig in a very tight space between my electricity and gas lines. The break ended up being directly below my gas line and slightly outside of the excavation box. I thought it was totally hopeless but they were calm and professional and improvised a way to make it work. They had put the huge mound of dirt on special boards so everything went back into the hole so all I have in my yard is a relatively small 4x8 section to re-sod. Those guys are the BEST! <br />"

"The plumber was very thorough and polite. He completed the work quickly and left the worksite clean. Once he was done, he explained what he did and how to maintain it. The price was very fair and I would hire Dana Hoagland Plumbing again without hesitation. He also practiced excellent social distancing, wore a mask, and put on new gloves when he was done and needed to exchange paper work."

"Nate is the best! We had a copper pipe leak, and Nate was able to be here within a couple of hours. He relaxed the copper section and installed a shut-off valve. I bought a custom-ordered Koehler toilet from Home Depot (never again. I then scheduled Nate to install. Short story: the toilet bowl was broken, and it would take Home Depot weeks to get get a new one. Nate called Ferguson in Plymouth — they had the same model. Nate picked it up and we had a new toilet in :45 minutes!"

"I am writing this review to hopefully help anyone in the Minneapolis area that needs a plumber. <br /> First, it is a HUGE pleasure to do business with Center Point Plumbing!! <br /> My experience, with every single plumbing outfit I have ever contacted over the years, is that the company will not talk to you when you call them. Every single plumbing company always says, "we can set up an appointment and have the plumber come out to your house and take a look and give you an estimate".  Of course, for a plumber to come to my house will cost me anywhere from $50-$90 just for the trip.....even if they do nothing. When I ask for a ball park figure of what the cost will be, over the phone....not one single plumbing company I have called in the past is willing to even give me a "rough" estimate about what a job may cost....they want to gouge you with the trip charge!! <br /> I have even asked companies to have a plumber call me and talk to me before they come to my home. NO WAY!  ALL plumbing companies I have called in the past seem to put plumbing ignorant  people on phone answering duty, and then train them that they are not to answer any questions from a customer!  And also train them to provide a customer ZERO help and/or information! <br /> When I called Center Point Plumbing, I spoke to Jim and he answered every question I had and gave me an estimate over the phone. And, it was not a ball park estimate, it was a firm estimate! I am telling anyone reading this....Jim is super nice, extremely helpful, and reliable! I also got an estimate from Jim for a variety of sump pump possibilities  while I had him on the phone. And, when I had some questions he did not have a ready answer for, he said he would call me back as quickly as possible after he got answers for me. Jim called me back, on two different occasions withing five minutes each time!! <br /> Evan is the plumber that came to my house to do the work....Oh, another thing.......Center Point Plumbing gave me an EXACT time appointment......... not an appointment with a 2 hour window or a 4 hour window....an EXACT appointment! No plumbing company I have ever dealt with is willing to do this! It was SOOO nice to not have to sit around and wait and wonder when the plumber was going to arrive! <br /> Evan actually called us before noon, which was our appointment time, and asked if we would mind if he came early. We were happy to see him arrive 30 minutes early......great guy....very helpful, did excellent work, and answered tons of questions I asked him while he was working.....on subjects from sinks, to sump pumps, to water heaters....on and on! <br /> When the work was completed, I paid exactly what I was quoted by Jim and Evan also gave me 2 written quotes for two other jobs we want to have done in the near future. This is the only plumber I will ever use from now on!!! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Chris came and provided an estimate, but after turning the valve off fully (it had not been completely shut off by my husband() he initially thought maybe the shut off valve was working, and did not need to be replaced. He not only did not charge me for this, but he also took time to answer my questions about some future-planned plumbing projects we have, and pointed out some things that will save us money in the future. When, after he left, the darn thing started dripping again, Chris came back within a week, installed the new valve, etc., and charged exactly what his initial estimate had been. I could not have been happier with his work! <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Norwood, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
