I had Owens Corning wall panels in my finished basement, they were here when I bought my house and I hated them from day one; they were too industrial looking for my taste. Anthony and Michael removed all of the double layered panels in a 1500 sq ft basement and disposed of them. They put up drywall, did all of the finishing work, put all 20 receptacles back in, put up floor and door trim and painted. They also replaced two casement windows and rehung two doors that were not installed properly by the previous homeowners. I plan on hiring them to replace the antiquated drop ceiling next."

"Never never buy from these thieves! We bought 8 windows to be replaced on the 12th of March 2025. The 17th of May they came to install. They didn't replace our windows. They inserted smaller windows into the old window frames(less light in the house). So now we have old cracked visible window frames. Silicone seals were not replaced. And the double hung windows can only open a third of the height, not half way up."

Most municipalities require building permits for basement framing projects. These permits cost between $1,200 and $2,000, ensuring your renovation meets local building codes for safety and structural integrity. Working without proper permits can result in penalties, forced removal of completed work, and complications when selling your home. Your local building department can provide specific information about permit requirements, inspection schedules, and any special considerations for basement renovations in your area.
For basement framing, use pressure-treated lumber for bottom plates (the horizontal boards that contact concrete floors) to prevent moisture damage and rot. Standard kiln-dried lumber is suitable for wall studs and top plates that don't directly contact concrete surfaces. The most common lumber dimension for basement wall framing is two-by-four, though some situations may call for two-by-six lumber to accommodate thicker insulation.
