"Randy was just awesome! He was very knowledgeable and very kind. I called him around 10 am after having a new refrigerator delivered. I explained that I needed some help with the water line that connects to the ice maker/water dispenser. He explained over the phone what likely needed to happen and then told me that he would get back with me in a couple of hours. I gave him my address and info and sure enough--2 hours later he comes, takes a look at what I need done, went to the hardware store, and bought what was needed. He then came back and installed everything and spent a good deal of time talking to me about installing our gutters. He's very friendly and I would not hesitate to call him again if we need work done on our house or remodeling. The quality of service we received definitely exceeded the price we paid to hire him. "We hired Young Remodeling to install a complex and custom pantry near the back door alcove of our kitchen.  We own an old home, so our kitchen is small.  The new pantry was/is designed to help add counter space to the main kitchen area by providing cabinet storage for a microwave oven, as well our toaster oven and coffee maker via a quartz counter top.  We also wanted to add additional storage via 4 custom cabinets.  Special pullouts were designed for storage containers in a lower cabinet, as well as a pullout bar beneath the microwave.  Young Remodeling did fantastic work on all facets of the job.  From recommending vendors, to providing design options, to ensuring quality in the cabinets, counter top, and tile, and of course the install - it was all top notch.  The end result is absolutely stunning. Of note, we would have given Young Remodeling high marks for the work in general, but they get exceptional points for problem solving. We had a severe challenge with one of our door options.  Working with my wife and I they were able to create a unique sliding door solution that actually performed better than the original design.  It looked amazing and didn't add any costs.  All in all, they are just fabulous to work with and their work product is of the highest standards.  We plan to continue to work with Young as we continue to remodel our plaza area home.

"An appointment was scheduled to assess the work and provide us with a proposal. Mr. Wilson personally met us and provided us with a thorough explanation of options. After reviewing all proposals, we had a couple of follow-up questions, which were promptly answered. Based on the damage to the existing driveway, resulting from foundation settling, one contractor had suggested the incorporation of piers; Mr. Wilson did not recommend this approach, since the piers would only add unnecessary cost and result in the increased likelihood of future settling damage, since the piers would essentially act as anchors on the driveway. After approving the proposal, the work was promptly scheduled. The work crew, headed personally by Mr. Wilson and his son, arrived on time...demolishing of the existing structures was completed in about three hours (they even managed to salvage the entire front porch, avoiding additional costly repairs). Framing, rebar support, and a drainage system were all installed on that same day. Mr. Wilson also installed a conduit for underground routing of landscape light wiring at no additional charge. The concrete was poured the following day and all finishing work, including application of the sealant was completed by the end of the day. Some cracking of two sections of the adjacent sidewalk, repaired only last year by the City, was removed and replaced at no additional charge. Following the curing phase, the work crew returned and completed the removal of the framing and installation of fill along the edges to our complete satisfaction. In every aspect, we couldn't have been more pleased with the performance and results. Our new driveway has resulted in compliments from several of our neighbors. My wife and I would highly recommend using Wilson Concrete and Construction for your residential needs!"

"Everyone was extremely nice and professional and very responsive to my questions.

The handyman work included fixing a metal strip on the garage door opening, installing a new can light, shaving 3 bathroom doors, a small bit exterior paint touch up, getting a stuck door open and tightening screws, and some good advice.   The other work was a lot of interior painting including spraying ceilings, 2 new steel doors to the outside, 1 small concrete pad, 3 permanent aluminum awnings.   I am very pleased with the outcome.    Thank you 5 Star!

"We aren't completely done with the remodel but I'm getting off Angie's List and wanted to give a review for Done Right before doing so.   We gutted our master bathroom (10x12).  A custom shower is being built, a free-standing tub will go in, knockdown on the ceiling, new vanity, lights, plumbing, flooring, toilet.  It is a huge job. As with any contractor there are pros and cons.  I will try to list them as best I can.

Pros:  We were about to give up hope of finding a good contractor until we found Shawn (owner). By then we had an exact idea of what we wanted the final product to be.  He walked through it with us and was very detailed.  He submitted a bid and we found it reasonable.  Other contractors were outrageously high or so low that their bids didn't make sense either.   I was able to go to several of his projects to preview his work and was very impressed with his attention to detail.  Tile work is his specialty although he does a lot of other work himself (not plumbing or drywall). He subs out other jobs.  His knowledge of remodeling is extensive.  He has foreseen some logistical issues and given alternatives.  He also is very good at helping find suppliers.  He has relationships with cabinet, tile, plumbing manufacturers as well as anything else you need during remodeling.  Because of those relationships, he can get contractor discounts.  He has always come to me to discuss things when there is any doubt or options I should consider.  The work he's done so far has been top notch.  He is also extremely friendly and trustworthy.  He has a key to my home.  A  few misc. things - he donates as much as possible to Habitat for Humanity so we can have a tax deduction.  He lets us do as much work as we want to save money.  When we tore out the bathroom he explained things to be careful of beforehand for our safety.  His bid is listed item by item, labor and materials, so you know every detail of what you're paying for.

Cons:  The biggest con we have are delays.  The most problematic one was that the tile we ordered is on back order.  That wouldn't have been a problem except he started our project anyway so our two to three week project isn't done and it's been a couple months. While he's detail oriented, he also seems to have too many irons in the fire or something at least when it comes to ordering things.  Sometimes he says he is coming and something comes up.  I have a feeling that's pretty common practice among all contractors though. It's hard to write something bad about a guy that overall is really, really good at what he does...just not on time. 

Overall, we are happy with Shawn's work.  While the delays have been incredibly frustrating and annoying I am confident that his final result will be worth the wait.  I was able to get exactly what I wanted in this remodel.  His pricing is reasonable but his quality exceptional.   My suggestion if you choose Shawn is for you to take more control over the timing - you make sure all items needed are ready to go before he starts.  I guarantee if you look at his work you will definitely see quality others don't have."

"Thom from foundation 1 was a miracle worker. We bought our house and Foundation 1 had done the pervious work on the foundation. After four other companies had failed. It was easy for my wife and I to switch over the warranty. We started to do remodeling and had a structural engineer told us what we need to do for the remodel. Foundation 1 needed to come in and change out some work they did. Plus the engineer said that the cracks on parts of the foundation that they hadn't done any work on just needed to be sealed. Thom dissected what the issue was and disagreed and said we needed support beams. Thom was 100% right. The garage floor was sinking and pushing the foundation wall in and leaking. He was extremely knowledgable and spent the time to explain what was really needing to be done. We are lucky that we had such a great company on our side. If you need any foundation work in the Kansas City area. Foundation 1 is the company to go with."

"Tammy, Rueben and the whole crew have been amazing! I had a flood in my home back in May which left me heartbroken. Dimension Drywall replaced all my sheetrock, painted the whole 1200 square ft. basement, did the trim and baseboards. They finished the whole job less than a week, cleaned everything up very nice, and even moved my furniture for me. I could not be more pleased with their work and their pricing is very competitive.
