"Allen and Justin (Blacksburg location) did their work late on a Friday afternoon without any complaints. They were efficient and I felt like they were honest in their assessment and repair advice. They walked me through almost everything and gave advice on how to extend the water heater life."

"The ARS crew did an excellent job replacing my old A/C unit. They were quick, efficient and courteous. However, when backing their truck from my driveway they damaged my landscaping wall. I immediately contacted their customer service and sent them photos showing the wall before and after the damage. It took me several weeks and numerous phone calls until I finally talked them into sending someone to repair the wall. It should not have been so. So, I would definitely recommend ARS Rooter with a caveat: do not sign the release form about possible damage until they are off your property."

"I needed an old gas pipe removed. It branched off from the main in my kitchen and went through a wall to my living room, where it had been used for a heating stove. The line had several 90 degree turns, as it wrapped around an old chimney. Mr Thurston did the full job in five minutes! It was impressive to watch. Every move suggested he could do jobs like this in his sleep. He was agile and knew exactly what he was doing. He not only removed and capped the line back where it had branched, but also, without me asking, removed a source of future confusion by replacing the old overblown drip assembly which had gone down into the floor and looked like it might be a second main. He replaced it with a short piece from the old line, now well above the floor, which he properly taped, as he did the cap at the T where the original had branched. He tested everything for leaks. Mr Thurston worked with an assistant, perhaps his son. It was easy to communicate with Mr Thurston beforehand by phone and text, and he arrived at the time we d scheduled. Less than one day total. Including HomeAdvisor fee, total job was $145. Fantastic! (I had cleared away everything from the walls the evening before.) He accepted credit card or anything else. I paid in cash. Maybe ten minutes total from walking in the house to writing the receipt. Highly recommended."

"Service man suggested to try a repair instead of replacing shower faucet. Fortunately, he could repair the shower faucet at a lower cost than replacing it."

"On all of the replacements or repairs there was a time period of 1 -3 weeks for the repairman. They were all professional . You have to read the contract , I missed the electric part and had to pay for it myself so read your warranty ."

I have 5 years of experience in plumbing, including 2 years working in the United States with different companies on both commercial and residential projects. During this time, I have developed strong skills in installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. In addition to my plumbing experience, I also have solid experience in construction, which helps me understand overall building processes and work effectively on job sites.

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Orange, VA

Most trenchless sewer line replacements can be completed within one to three days, though this varies based on your situation. Simple repairs on accessible lines might be finished in hours, while complex systems or challenging soil conditions could extend the timeline. The reduced excavation requirements result in faster completion compared to traditional trenching methods.

Trenchless pipe lining may reduce the interior diameter of your pipes, which could affect flow capacity in already narrow lines. This method also requires the existing pipe to maintain sufficient structural integrity to support the new liner. Severely collapsed sections, major joint separations, or completely misaligned pipes might not be suitable candidates for lining and could require alternative approaches.

Trenchless sewer pipe liners are rated to last up to 50 years when properly installed and maintained. Actual longevity depends on installation quality, usage patterns, and environmental factors like soil movement or tree root intrusion. Regular maintenance and avoiding problematic disposal practices (like flushing non-biodegradable items) can help maximize your system's operational lifespan.

Trenchless technology availability varies by region, with greater accessibility in metropolitan and suburban areas where specialized contractors operate. Some rural locations may have limited access to trenchless equipment and expertise. Local regulations and soil conditions also influence availability. A professional assessment of your property and local contractor options will determine if trenchless methods are feasible for your specific location.

Professional video inspection provides the most reliable assessment of whether your sewer issues suit trenchless repair. Generally, pipes with moderate damage, like small cracks, minor leaks, or partial blockages, respond well to trenchless techniques. Completely collapsed sections, severe misalignments, or extensive structural failures might require traditional excavation. Consulting with contractors who offer both methods ensures you receive unbiased recommendations.

Quality trenchless sewer replacement often includes a workmanship guarantee from the contractor. The specific terms vary by company and region, but many professionals stand behind their installation for at least one year. Material warranties may extend longer, depending on the pipe products used. Always request written warranty information before hiring, and understand exactly what's covered and what might void your protection.
