"We came home the evening before the service was done, & couldn't get our garage door to open. We discovered that one of the torsion springs had snapped (it's 16 years old).  I called the company at about 9:00 PM & left a message with their answering service. Someone from the company called back the next morning, & a technician was at our house by about 1:00 PM the next day.  Thankfully we didn't have to work that day, as my husband's car was trapped in the garage; they may have been there even sooner if we had.  My husband was home when the service was performed, & said the technician was very nice, & completed the job in about an hour.

"I originally gave Barnett's an A but now as I went back in to install the wall sconces and outlet covers, (we had the carpet cleaned so this is the first time this could be done) I noticed that most of the corners were missed and one wall has to be completely repainted so many spots were missed. The room is dark with dark colors but they knew that from the start and that was discussed. My wife and I will repaint all of the trim (brush strokes) and the south wall. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"overall experience was good.  the owner (chris gallagher) and his son made time, away from another job, to fit me in.  they were punctual and dilligent.  the work (overall) went well also.  the exterior aluminum trim for the door and the interior turned out nicely.  the steps that were installed look alot nicer and fuction much better as well. i will and would use them for future work in my home.   "
