"Mike came and evaluated our drain in the basement, all cast iron, with metal sediment pooling in the drain to the sewer line. We had a lengthy discussion about chasing problems versus replacing the full line to where the prior homeowner replaced in 2015. We opted to not have to excavate our basement twice and fix the full sewer. Mike monitored the crew, answered any questions we had along the way. This wasn't a decision we made lightly, but we felt reassured and in good hands with the experience provided. The work was completed in three days and so far everything looks good, and we have the warranty to cover workmanship/parts anomalies. There is a reason we have the service plan with Benjamin Franklin, they might be higher cost, but the quality is there. I prefer the use of a price list any day over the pay by hour route hands down. He worked later to get the lines corrected and my new hot water heater installed. He was very professional and when he was done everything was completely cleaned up. "Jim came sooner then expected. Look at the fithy drain and gave a reasonable estimate. Stating if he didn't have it finished in about an hour then he would have to come back and do more extensive work.
My drain was clogged with debris from recent construction and pack in the very well. Jim started and was done before I had time to question it.

"It all ended well - AHS decided to replace the furnace (19 years old) instead of the pricey part. It was a long process, though, during the hottest part of the summer. Communication between AHS and the vendor was not good. The vendor and I were both calling daily for status, having to wait on hold for 20-40 minutes before getting a person. However, the people we spoke to at AHS were very friendly and helpful. Call backs were non-existent, though, which would have been more of an issue if results were not seen. I am just grateful the 3 weeks without the furnace was during the uncomfortable summer as opposed to the bitter cold winter. Bottom line is - it got done, but it was long and drawn out. At this point we've gotten more out of the program than we put in, but I am thinking the inconvenience isn't worth the difference. The cost of service below is only for the service call - our annual AHS is about $1800."
