Customers say: Quick response

"Mike fixed my garage door and painted it. It looks beautiful. The thermalfoil on most of my cabinets were peeling. He and his partner did a superb job on my cabinets. I would highly recommend him. He is professional, reasonable. I will surely look forward to working with him again! Laura & Jerry W."

Small jobs welcome

"Austin not only got the job done right, he’s accomplished our upgrades far beyond expectations. He is a master of his craft, a perfectionist, and conscientious business owner. Every morning at 7AM Austin was at our house already preparing his day. And at the end of the day he was still full of energy and excited about the magic he was planning for the next day. He was fair and calculating for a realistic price for materials and labor. He has been reliable, trustworthy, engaging, and caring. Austin provided thoughtful creativity as we challenged him to achieve woodworking corrections on our damaged hardwood floor that 3-4 other contractors said wasn’t possible. Austin made it happen… and flawlessly! Please know that everyone has different needs and expectations, but my husband and I have been delighted with Austin’s work. He’s earned a 10 out of 10 on our scale of excellence. Thank you so much Austin, you truly have made our vision happen."

"They really are not that good because the work they did started to deteriorate quickly after they did it. They came back and resolved the problem but they also did additional work; they really are not the best painters. The price was very reasonable and they also did some exterior painting for me as well. The interior painting was not as professional as I thought it could have been but they were quick to respond to my needs. They were punctual."

"Nolan does outstanding carpentry and painting. Everyone involved in our job was highly skilled, tidy, and professional. Declan is an experienced, meticulous cabinetmaker. You pay top dollar for Nolan -- theirs was the highest quote we saw -- but considering the quality, the value proposition is more than acceptable."

"Let me start by saying that my husband is the one who did the walk-through estimate with Joe. I wasn't there and I can't verify that my husband explained exactly what we were looking for. But I was under the impression that the wallpaper would be sealed and the walls repaired so that when they were painted over, you wouldn't be able to tell there was wallpaper in the first place. We got an estimate from another company and they were planning on skimming the walls several times to create the smooth surface. I was under the impression that this was what Joe and his guys were doing, too.
I was wrong.
When the office was completed you could see the stripes where the pieces of wallpaper met. I was very unhappy with this and told Joe. To his credit, he immediately offered to fix the walls. His guys skimmed over the seams and repainted. The result, though was that now there are bands of a different texture, so it's still noticeable.
If you're not looking too closely, the rooms look great. But when you pay attention to the details, you see things like where the guys painted over chips in the window sill, instead of sanding them out or filling them or whatever. There's a very noticeable wallpaper seam in the bedroom. Some of the edging is uneven. When they cleaned on the final day, the guys left drips of charcoal paint on the bathroom threshold. These are things I expect when WE paint our house, not when we pay someone a big ol' chunk of money to paint it.
That said, I would work with this company again. The paint crew guys were super professional and polite. We couldn't be there every day and we felt secure leaving them in our house. One of the guys even walked our dog one day because he was antsy. That goes above and beyond. We tipped them well.
Joe installed the molding himself, and he did a beautiful job. We had the ceiling painted charcoal and brought the color down about five inches on the wall. Then there's the molding, and then the lavender color we used on the walls. It's really quite stunning.
I'd love to give the company an A, but I do feel like there was some attention to detail lacking. I will make sure that the next time I hire them or any other painter I have every little thing spelled out in the estimate, so there's no room for interpretation.

"Very well. The salesman was very professional; not pushy and didn't sell his company by putting other companies down. The installer was on time, courteous, professional and completed the work neatly and quickly."

"Very well. Some jobs were straightfoward and were done efficiently and one was a faucet problem that had to be diagnosed. Dan got the parts and fixed it. Friendly, neat and competent. Busy guy but the wait is worth it. I would recommend him w/o hesitation."

FAQs for interior trim and decorative moldings installation projects in Oxford, PA

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
