These particular ones had hairline cracks from issues with the concrete foundation when the home was built in 2002. Luckily, the original owners left us 17 spare tiles. We spotted the hairline cracks when we inspected and bought the house in late 2013. Removing tiles within floors of (non-cracked) tiles, takes quality artisans, which this team is.
