"Eric did a great job while giving me my quote. He was very knowledgeable and found some issues with my siding that I hadnt noticed yet. He showed me the product that DaBella was offering and the differences in other siding materials. He worked very hard to make the siding replacement quote affordable and fit all of our needs. I cannot wait to get the new siding."

"We were so grateful to find a CRAFTSMAN like Paul Munroe. There are very few of what I would call craftsmen around anymore, but fortunately Angie's List still has some. <br /> When I called Paul we had just fired a handyman. Although a very sweet man, the handyman was slow and his tile work was down right BAD; there is just no other way to put it. The tile was a crooked and c***-eyed mess and half way through the job I heard him chiseling up my vintage NOS tile. We only had a limited amount of sheets of this tile and they aren't making it anymore. so we let the handyman go and went over to Angie's list to find an experienced tile man. We saw the EXCELLENT reviews that Paul had and we knew he was the one to call. He fit us in to his schedule and went right to work. Paul came in, covered the floor and hallway with tarps and started the demo. Once done he went straight to work on the counter top, In a couple of days he had the counter top finished; it was beautiful. Now, just a reminder, we were using tile from 1960 to match the age of our home, so the mesh backing that the mosaic tile was attached to wasn't in the greatest of shape so this wasn't a standard square tile and spacer job. Before the Handyman debacle, we were considering doing the floor in the remainder of the NOS tile. When we saw the quality of Paul's work we asked him to do the floor also. Paul also made suggestions like putting a standard square tile border outside of the NOS tile around the perimeter of the bathroom. I was glad I took his advice because it really made the NOS tile stand out beautifully. Paul is a HARD WORKER. and rarely took a break. He was so enjoyable to talk to and we became quick friends. He turned a bad handyman experience into an adorable 1960 pink tile bathroom. <br /> When we are ready to do the Master Bath in our NOS Blue Mid Century Modern tile, Paul will definitely be the one we hire for the job! <br /> THANKS PAUL! <br />"

"Everything went perfectly. AC was my contact and he was very helpful and responsive. He explained all of my options and answered all my questions. He also helped me find a new roofer when my guy didn't respond. Work was done correctly and on time. They were also very careful with the new roof and cleaned up well. Did an excellent job of blending the new stucco with the existing. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you for a job well done!"

"I was very impressed with George and the father/son team at MagCor. I asked for a quote on some exterior work and George was prompt and thorough in his response. He walked me through the sequence of the repairs and delivered on every aspect of the project. The quality of his work was outstanding. I appreciated his flexibility in scheduling, and his reliability. When the project was completed, George took the initiative to repair and touch up some other parts of the exterior of our home that needed attention. Why? Because he had extra material and paint and didn't want it to go waste. He made several trips to a local paint store to be sure the paint color matched, according to our HOA's standards. He went above and beyond what I even asked for or expected. A true professional!"

"We called AZ Dreamscapes because of good reviews on Angie's List and Yelp.  We prefer to work with LOCAL businesses, and this was within 10 miles of our home.  I've used professional landscapers several times in several states, so know the process.  Scott arrived when scheduled to do an estimate.  He patiently listened to our needs and what we viewed as a final landscape.  We are new to Arizona, and he made several excellent suggestions.  We have 3 dogs and needed smaller rocks and no plants hazardous to them.  We had other estimates done, and Scott was about the middle cost wise.  We chose him because he seemed genuinely interested in OUR project and needs.   <br />   <br /> We had to "wait" for a start date--about 2-3 weeks--as Scott is quite busy.  It was worth the wait.  If you are a person who needs every detail drawn out in advance, you need to tell Scott that from the beginning.  I am not that tied to every detail, but do put lots of emphasis on the final outcome.  I think a certain amount of faith in Scott as a designer is required, but MY faith was certainly rewarded. He is a skilled designer. <br /> His company did the following work: <br /> 1. Trimmed a VERY overgrown olive tree to about 1/3 its overgrown size.  Two months later, it is thriving. <br /> 2.  Cut back an African sumac and an oleander to sizes appropriate for our yard <br /> 3.  Removed all the stone from the back yard and replaced it with gravel--our choice for the dogs <br /> 4.  Installed 2 areas of artificial turf along back patio <br /> 5.  Built a slate rock edged bed for planting <br /> 6.  Finished an unfinished patio with pavers <br /> 7.  Planted several areas and edged trees with pavers <br /> 8.  Improved our irrigation system. <br /> 9.  Changed our design to include a dry riverbed in the back when a huge rainstorm indicated that we needed better water runoff.  This added only gently to our bill. <br /> Work was completed in about 10 days.  His employees are <em>fantastic--</em>some of the hardest workers I've met.  They were courteous and careful to leave the back yard safe for our dogs each day.  It could not have been done any better. <br /> Scott has been back a couple of times to check on our irrigation and make sure we are happy with the outcome.  We are!  We are anxious for spring when some of the plantings will begin to thrive.  Even without lots of growing things, the yard looks great,  and our water bill has gone down significantly since he adjusted the irrigation.  I'd use his company again in a heartbeat. <br />"

"Like many contractors these days, it was great up until the home stretch. You may want to sit because this is going to get lengthy ... The demo and layout went well. Early into the layout I questioned them about sprinkler placement and was assured there would be plenty of coverage with no standing water, nor dry spots. I should have listened to my gut, but I placed my trust in the company that had been doing this for 20 years. Many of the sprinklers were installed crooked (they need to be straight vertically to provide the proper coverage). I brought this up and was assured they would be straightened before the sod was laid. Some were. When I asked about it again, I was told they would work themselves into place. Again, I deferred to his experience versus my nagging gut. The paver patio was laid out well, as were the paver borders. With the drip system in place, they installed the landscape fabric, decorative plants, and "river rock". That's in quotes because there is definitely some river rock in the mix, but it was equally tainted with granite and rock hard mud. Basically the cheapest excuse for river rock there could be. We have river rock installed elsewhere, so it doesn't take much to look at one, then the other to notice strange things are afoot. Sod was installed with winter grass already seeded in and almost all of it lived (Hallelujah!) But I soon noticed dead, dry grass in a couple areas. It took two weeks of back and fourth to convince them to install another sprinkler to cover the dry areas. On top of that, the installer lied about telling my wife "It doesn't need another head, it just needs to be adjusted." His adjustment included watering the entire paver patio just to barely reach the dry spot (which was completely against their initial advice of "Never waste water on concrete". Rather than taking one more day to check on fit and finish of the install, they bugged out ASAP leaving landscape fabric exposed above the "river rock" in many places, spilled concrete on the new kool deck, and about thirty feet of concrete foot prints on the paver driveway. Not to mention the crooked sprinklers. Now that the heat is on, the Bermuda sod is coming through nicely except for, you guessed it, DEAD, DRY SPOTS. Now, to ease your fears, there are parts of the lawn that are sprouting mushrooms because it's too wet, so their advice of "Leave the sprinklers on longer" isn't going to fly. I'm anxious to see what excuses they come up with to get out of installing a couple more heads to make it right. See, that was what I hammered into the salesman and supervisor ... "You weren't the cheapest bid, but based on your experience and reviews I expect you DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME." I must have said that 50 times. Just take a bit of extra time to make sure you've got it down and everyone can walk away happy. Instead, they would rather come out an additional four or five times and dig holes in the new grass. I'm aware we have high standards. Maybe a bit unrealistic. But if that's the case, don't promise to perform to those expectations then get upset when customers hold you to it. Oh, and get this ... We replaced a piece of sod a couple of weeks ago that had never taken root and found they had lain it on the spot where they had been cleaning their concrete buckets and tools. Plus they left the old sprinkler head underneath it as well. I'm going to have to research this new type of fertilizer called mortar and plastic."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Paradise Valley, AZ

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
