"The entire central air conditioning job was completed under the allotted time. Peter and his team were extremely professional, knowledgeable, thorough, left no mess behind, and their price for this job was very reasonable. I was so impressed that I scheduled him to go out and replace my daughter/son-in-law's two oil fired furnaces in the same week. I would highly recommend All Phase to anyone looking to upgrade or replace their mechanicals. Great job Peter. Thank you for changing my outlook on contractors, who many times, never keep their promises, and provide sub-par work! Thank you!!"

"This is my 3rd (or 4th?) experience with Northern Lights Electric, and it certainly won't be my last. They arrived on time (7am), worked quickly and efficiently, and were done much sooner than I expected. They also cleaned up when they were done. Steven was also very willing to answer questions and explain some things, as well as give me information on some potential future services I was considering. I just requested an appointment for a ceiling fan installation and recessed lighting. Definitely my go-to for any electrical issues."

"They were very responsive and were able to be out here within a week. The service was great and quick, the previous owners of our home smoked and after the cleaning the smell was gone. They explained everything they were doing and were careful not to chip any paint or damage our wooden vents."

"I called Bruce based on several positive Home Advisor reviews. My Central A/C compressor would not turn on to begin the cooling season. A large pine tree fell near the compressor in March after a nor Easter storm. No visible damage to unit was evident although a small electrical disconnect box was struck by a branch. I called on Friday, Bruce came out on Wednesday. It took him 15 minutes to troubleshoot and determine electric box had a shorted wire and blown capacitor. Bruce did not have the parts on truck so a second visit was scheduled for Friday. Bruce came out on Friday and installed new wire and electrical disconnect box within an hour. Bruce also checked the Freon level which was good. My central AC fired up just fine and is now ready for another cooling season. Thanks to Bruce and his helper. I would call him again. I highly recommend Bruce for central A/C servicing."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Pascoag, RI

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
