"Quality, expertise, knowledge base and friendly. Tim did great work in repairing the water pipe in the attic as well as replacing a ball valve on the main water line in the house that controls the outside spigots. I will use this company again when the need arises and I will request Tim."

"It went very well. Plumb Tite Plumbing came to my house, viewed the job and then gave me a price quote with no service call charge. I accepted and Bobby, my service tech, went to work right then and completed it in a timely manner and his work was excellent and neatly done. I would recommend then and I will use this company for any and all my plumbing repairs or installs in the future."

"Fast, professional and reliable team that made sure my family was taken care of when our water heater decided to quit in the middle of the winter. The team memeber that did the install was highly knowledgeable and gave us several options and didn't feel like he was just trying to take advantage of us. Will definitely be recommending maximum plumbing to my friends and family for their plumbing needs in the future"

"Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was everything I couldâ ve asked for and more. Ethan was so respectful and happy to answer all my questions!! He kept me updated through out the entire process & made sure I was informed of all my options. He definitely showed me he takes pride in his job and his attention to detail in his work shows! He replaced my shower handle stem and handle. Installed a new main water shutoff valve with a pressure regulator valve, and an overflow tank, both of which entailed very restricting and difficult location and placement. Luckily Ethanâ s positive attitude and efficient work relieved the stress of such a big, unexpected repair. Great experience. Absolutely happy with my choice. 100% recommend. 10/10."

We had a sewer backup in a rental home that our son and daughter-in-law live in. They called a friend who worked for a plumber and they ran the auger, but did not fix the problem. They referred us to Roger from Henry's Excavating who came to the home checked it out and even went to the MSD to review the drawings. He suggested we get a camera first to check it out.

We found Flow Rite through Angies List and spoke to Dan who was very helpful. He suggested using the camera and then hydrojetting it if necessary. He asked us to go to the website and schedule the appointment.  Unfortunately it was going to take over a week for them to come out (one slight negative). We were scheduled today at noon and they finally got there close to 5:00 (another slight negative).

The cleanout was on the side of the house. The gentleman who came out ran the camera but did not see a clog. Here is where he gets major bonus points!!! He used a metal detector to find the main sewer line in the front of the house. The line on the side was for an addition and the main line was in the front of the house. It was buried under dirt and mulch in the front garden. He was able to run the camera and then hydro jet it out. There were some roots in the line but fortunately the line is intact.

"My daughter just purchased a 10 year old home. The first time they tried to use the outside spigot, the water shot inside the basement instead of outside. Since they had a home owner's warranty, they scheduled repair with the recommended service provider, who was Joe Lay and sons. As a long time Angie's List user, I was a little concerned after reading mixed reviews about this provider. However, we had nothing but a positive experience. The appointment was scheduled within 24 hours. The technician stated it was a pretty straightforward issue and a fairly simple fix given the basement is not finished. The repair was completed within 30 minutes. He took the time to show us the broken pipe and instruct my daughter on how to prevent this from happening in the future. (Previous owners probably didn't remove hoses in winter). We then found out that the homeowner's warranty doesn't cover this type of issue (figures), even though it was through no fault of the new homeowner. If a claim is covered under the warranty, the homeowner is responsible for $100 deductible. The usual cost for this type of repair was $ 175 for the labor and $50 for the copper replacement pipe. Since the job had been fairly easy and not covered under the policy, they gave us a discount and charged $150 which was the cost of usual deductible plus the parts needed for repair. We were very thankful for the price break. The technician seemed knowledgeable and was very courteous. I would not hesitate to work with this company in the future.

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Petersburg, KY

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
