"I was super impressed with Window's Plus! The sales guy came out, no pressure. Things were back up with the install a bit due to Covid and winter, but they kept me in the loop. The Installer, Jim was a super nice guy and did a great job. I'd gladly recommend them to friends or family. I'm going to be using them again this year for the rest of my windows."

"Super professional, prompt and financially reasonable. As close to "set it and forget it" as you can probably get when one is shopping for windows. Mak, the owner, is super polite appreciative. We've still got some more windows to replace and will definitely give Zen a call."

"The people at 1st Choice are totally professional from the start. Joe quoted us a price that was a fraction of other installers. The replaced 9 Windows, including our bay window, at our shore house in 1 day! The house looks amazing and our energy bills have already come down. We love the work and new look of our home. I highly recommend 1st Choice for your new windows and doors!"

"Here is what I appreciated the most about Maxi Windows: 1) Nick was professional and spent time going over current window technology. 2) He evaluated which windows were in dire need of replacement after inspecting them. 3) He used absolutely no pressure tactics to replace windows. 4) He was on time and replaced all my windows in less than a day without leaving any mess. 5) His capping craftsmanship was amazing and he took great pride in his work. 6) After having gone to many window showrooms, I stuck with his recommendation which was the best choice I made. 7) He was nice to our dog and mindful of her when opening doors. If you are looking for an honest and quality window replacement company that wont pressure you and change prices then call Maxi Windows."

"Requested a quote for replacing windows on my house that were still original to the house and had not been properly maintained prior to my purchasing the house. Several had been painted shut, or were stuck shut, and I had to fight hard with the couple that I could manage to open. They were also very drafty, with some cracks in the glass, and several were missing the screens and/or storm windows (not that I could open the windows to use them, even if they were there.) Emerald scheduled with me quickly, arrived promptly, explained their recommendations and provided the full estimate within a week of initially meeting with me. When I was unsure about the windows themselves, particularly how the screen would work (to be able to remove for cleaning, etc), they got a sample window with a full screen and brought it out for me to test out. That did take a few weeks, since they didn't have it readily available and had to wait for it to come in, but I was pleased with the service and the demonstration, so I went with them. It ended up being about 11 weeks from the time I accepted their proposal to when the windows got installed, which was a bit longer than had been originally stated (~8 weeks) but understandable since the timeline included the holidays. As for the installation, they were friendly, professional, fast, and did a great job as far as I can tell. They just finished a few hours ago, so still too new to see if there are any issues; if there are, I'll update this review. However, even if there are issues, they've provided excellent service so far so I expect they will continue to."

"It went extremely well! Our house is from 1855 and has windows near that time period (the glass has bubbles in it). While the old windows are very cool, they're horrible for insulation in cold and heat and none of them would stay open. I looked around at several window shops since we would need a lot done, and Wayne responded the quickest, and was great on our wallet. He helped us decide what windows would be best for our house and was also great with our two big dogs, ha. His team was great installing them and they're beautiful. Who knew you could think windows were! As we have plenty more old windows and old doors to bring up to this century, we'll definitely be hiring Wayne and his team again."

"David quickly answered my call for an appointment and came by just a few days later. It was very easy to schedule an appointment with him. He arrived on time and in about 45 minutes replaced the two window films that had been damaged. One was due to my accidentally scratching it and the other was a film that was deteriorating and was replaced for free. The price for repair of the window I damaged was very reasonable and his repair work was perfect; both windows now look like new. I was very satisfied with his professionalism, courtesy, neatness and skill in doing the work and would definitely call him back for any future work."

"Everything went great! My windows were spotless after they cleaned, and in addition to the screen repair, they also repaired the sliding glass door to the backyard so it would slide easier. They also recommended a place to repair one of our windows that is older, when we were told by someone else that all the windows in the room needed to be replaced rather than the one. I will definitely be using them again!"

"Ron, the company president, came out to give me an estimate. He was very upfront and thorough, and I felt comfortable with what he told me. He seemed a little taken aback when I asked for a written contract, but wrote one up on the spot anyway. They called to follow up a week later, and I placed my order, along with the required $500 deposit. On installation day, the installers showed up on time. However, they didn't seem to speak much English, and I had to inform them they were looking at the wrong windows. With that cleared up, they set to work - without much of a break - for about 6 hours, installing the new glass blocks. I was impressed by their work ethic, but when they had questions the language barrier seemed pretty steep. The previous owner had run some wires through the old window sills, wires we had since disconnected. The installers, unfortunately, didn't ask before running them through the mortar. I noticed before the mortar dried, and was able to take the wires out and re-pack the mortar. Overall, they did a nice job, and the windows seem very securely installed."

"They arrived in the morning on time, removed the glass. They put a well fitted piece of cardboard in its place. They came back in the early afternoon to replace the glass. The glass was a perfect match to the other windows, the thickness and the tint. We were very impressed of their knowledge, very professional, friendly great personality. We highly recommend this company and will use them again. As an added bonus they brought a treat for my dog. If you use this company, I GURANTEE YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Philadelphia, PA

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
