"Landon and Brad came out and inspected my crawl space. I was concerned about my vapor barrier and rightfully so. They took pictures for me (far more detailed than my home inspector), and provided me with a solution and quote. I'll be honest, I don't know much about a lot of this, but they showed me videos of how everything worked and encouraged me to do my research. We even worked on a plan to get everything situated. I like that they understood I wanted something long term, and not just a band-aid fix. I also appreciate them being patient with me while I crunched numbers on my laptop. Overall, the two of them very kind, professional, and informative. Thank you!"

"I called Ron last July about putting in a sprinkler system. For several reasons I wasn't able to do it last year. I called Ron back the last week of June and asked him if he would come refresh my memory of what he had proposed to do. He came the next day and went over it all and we set the date for July 1 to install the system. They were here bright and early and worked hard all day. They installed some misters in flower beds and did a great job of not destroying my plants! They cleaned up the yard very well and tested the system and made some adjustments. Ron went over the operation of the controls with me and left me the book of instructions (just in case)! Ron's workers did a great job. I am very glad I saw him listed on Angie's list! Thanks Ron for a great install!"

"As a courtesy to take some of the work off Mr. Pair, I called 811 a week or so in advance to have my utilities marked in or near the work site. Mr. Pair and three of his crew members arrived on 08/17/2013 around 9:15 A.M., and quickly began unloading their trucks of the tools, supplies, and the excavator they needed to do the job. I could quickly tell this wasn't their first rodeo, as they each knew their responsibilities and where they needed to be at each given time. One man hand dug down beside the foundation of my house to find the cracked footing. Once that was found he used a jack hammer to remove the concrete applied by the previous failed correction initiated by the brick mason 6 - 8 months prior. Once the area was cleaned out for a clear view a second crew man used the excavator to make the hole beside my house both wider and deeper. After this was complete the third crewman detached the bucket from the excavator and attached a type of drill auger. He manipulated the galvanized base of the pier into the hole and connected the auger which then began screwing into the ground. The crew knows how far to drill when 20 + metal pins inserted into the drill attachment begin to snap and break (this indicates the tension to support my homes foundation has been reached), and they can stop the process. A crewman then disconnects the auger device from the galvanized pole of the pier and uses a type of saw to cut the pole below ground level. Once this is complete a 38lb galvanized metal plate is positioned over the top of the pole, slid down to the base of my foundation and swiveled around to fit under the foundation. The metal plate is drilled into the concreted foundation while large bolts hold the plate to the pier pole. Once this is complete the bucket is hooked back up to the excavator the hole is filled in and they moved to the next spot where my second helical pier was needed to be installed. The process was repeated until lunch time which they used to go back to the shop to pick up some additional pins. Within less than an hour they returned to my house and resumed the process. Within close proximity of the second spot were two fairly large diseased shrubs. I asked if they would use the excavator to remove those for which they did free of charge (even carrying them down to the street for yard waste pickup). After the second pier was installed, and the hole covered they began removing the mortar from the cracked wall, and replacing with a mortar that matched my house better than that previously used by the brick mason. They cleaned up behind themselves, loaded up, and were finished by 3:15 P.M. the same day. Mr. Pair allowed me to pay half the balance then and post date a check for the second installment to be cashed in 30 days. This was a positive project from start to finish, with my only regret being not finding Pair Foundation Solutions sooner. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"It turned out to be fine.  My basement looks fine and neat now.  They did exactly what we agreed that they will do.  There were no screaming and no arguing.  They were the back slap and hand shake.    <br /> <br /> Their price was excellent."

"John did not complete the work he said he was going to do. He cited overrun costs as the reason he did not fix driveway as he said he would and finish french drain with river rock as he said he would do. He had to add a sump pump to the french drain. Landscaping was very well done. John's heavy equipment severely damaged our driveway and he has failed to return all my calls regarding the damage. Photos are available. He was fully paid for the work he completed. We believe he did not live up to his word. We agreed to "forget" the river rock but asked for our driveway to be repaired. We have not heard from John despite frequent calls to his office. Legal action has not been ruled out on our part."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Pine-mountain-valley, GA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
