"My experience with Responsible Pools was nothing short of wonderful, throughout. Dean was prompt, pleasant and thorough with our initial communications, even responding after hours. He arrived the next day, and thoroughly accessed my current pool system setup, then spent a LOT of time explaining detailed various options for me (my "setup" request was a very unique, unusual one). He was honest and instead of trying to upsell, he recommended a smaller unit, suggesting the larger one would be "overkill" for my small pool. The quote for the exact same equipment, warranty and labor (actually, more detailed-labor) was MUCH more competitive and fair as compared to the other companies I'd considered. Upon project initiation, Brandon was on time and did an incredible job with a very challenging, unique pump system setup. He worked mindfully and diligently, arranging a very unique, complicated(due to my unusual request), easy to control, effective system. I couldn't be happier!"

"This is the 7th Pool Service company I've used over the past 5 years and the first that I would unconditionally recommend.
Pete is the first time I've used Angie's list and has made me a believer.  He took over a mess and now I have a pool that looks like it did the day it was built.

"LCD readout on the heater did not work and hence I never knew what temp the heater was trying to reach.  Paul offered me the option of a used part at half price or a brand new one at regular price.  I now can set the temp of the water without guessing, and don't have to turn the heater off when the water becomes too warm.  Visiting family is happy.
I asked Paul about the pool pump as well.  He gave me advice on when to replace it, but did not try to find more work himself, or expense for me.

"After a cold night, turned up the thermostat to heat up the house and after about 1 hour the temperature didn't change.  Checked the breaker to the pump, turned it off, tried to turn it on again and the breaker kept tripping off.  I called Jim Morris on Sunday morning and he came by a few hours later and called me (as promised) when he was on his way.  This cost a bit more than his normal service charge (being a Sunday and it was an emergency service).  The heating system is working great now!
I've used this company the last 6-7 years for other repairs and maintenance check ups and am very happy with their pricing, professionalism and punctuality.

"David has been our pool cleaner for both of our properties, and we couldn't be happier with his service. He consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that our pools are sparkling clean and well-maintained. David is incredibly reliable and punctual. He arrives on time for each scheduled cleaning session and completes the job efficiently. We appreciate his attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning both the pool water and pump area. "After meeting with many pool companies for estimates, I hired Ronny Snow's Pool Patrol to resurface my pool, upgrade my tile and replace my pool light. The sales associate, Jess, reviewed the options for my project in great detail and guided me through making decisions to aligned to my vision for the project. Once the project started, the resurface team was that took care of draining, prepping, and tiling the water line were amazing. They made sure that I was clear on every step of the process. They were all professional, informative, and left my lanai neat, clean and safe every day. I had one minor delay with the resurface team as some of the team members were out sick the day my surfacing was going to start. The lead came to my house to determine if he could do the work short staffed, and after a conversation, we decided that it was better to wait for the full staff because of the large size of my pool. This only set us back 2 days. The resurface team did an amazing job on the surface and working with me on placing the accent tiles for my stairs and swim shelf. After the pool was filled, Justin arrived for "fire up" and care instructions. Once again everything was explained with professionalism and detail. He has done a great job of taking care of the pool since then. Ronny clearly ensures that his teams are professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and are focused on customer service and quality work. I have already recommended Ronny Snow to friends and neighbors that are considering a pool remodel. I'd like to thank Ronny and all of the members of his team for doing an amazing job on my pool resurface. I love it! Kind Regards, Christina Ragucci"

FAQs for swimming pool heaters repair or service projects in Plant City, FL

Replacing a pool heater costs $3,000 on average. Final pricing depends on the type of heater (gas, electric, or solar) and your pool's size. Factor for swimming pool repair costs, at an average of $3,800. When you start experiencing issues with your pool heater, other equipment and structural failures often follow. Installation is often the least expensive for electric and gas heaters. Heat pumps and solar panels often cost several thousand dollars more to install.

A pool heater’s lifespan is determined by its type and proper upkeep. Solar heaters last 20 to 25 years, electric heat pumps perform for five to 10 years, and gas heaters remain effective for 5 years. Regular pool maintenance safeguards performance and prevents premature failure. Ensuring that you adhere to a strict annual service schedule protects your investment and maintains consistent heating efficiency.

Depending on the size of your pool, location, climate, and current energy prices, you’ll spend up to $20 per hour to heat a pool using propane, $9 per hour using natural gas, and $1 to $2 per hour for a heat pump. Northern climates require more energy and can double the price. Standard estimates allow homeowners to easily estimate the cost of heating a pool for a month. Propane heaters, for example, are known to burn around 1 gallon per hour per 100,000 BTUs.

An electric or gas heat pump will take eight to 14 hours to heat a pool, while a solar heat pump takes 24 to 72 hours. Multiply the number of gallons by 8.34 to get your total pounds of water. Divide this figure by your heater's BTU rating to determine how many hours it takes to raise the water temperature by 1 degree Fahrenheit.

If your pool heater is not raising the water temperature to the desired level, the issue is caused by cold ambient conditions rather than a malfunction. The best solution is to install a solar cover that locks in heat and boosts efficiency. A solar cover costing $120 to $250 enhances heat retention, ensuring your heater performs at its peak. Additionally, verify that all settings—such as thermostat calibration and water circulation—are properly adjusted to support optimal heating.

Regular annual maintenance is crucial to keep your pool heater running efficiently and to avoid high repair costs. Investing $100 to $200 in yearly maintenance prevents issues such as excessive noise, surging energy bills, and malfunctioning controls. This proactive care not only prolongs your heater’s lifespan but also ensures reliable performance throughout the season. Always refer to your warranty guidelines to follow the required maintenance procedures.
