"I am a small business owner. The heating and A/C in our business were very old so we knew it was a matter of time before they needed to be replaced. Last week the air conditioner finally stopped working for good. I sent an inquiry through Angie's List and Brian Anthony's Refrigeration called me within 3 minutes and was at my business within the hour. They gave us an estimate for the job, which was lower than previous estimates from other companies and we agreed to the specifics. Install was complete within a day and the guys were friendly and knowledgeable. We experienced some water dripping from the A/C and they came back twice in the same day to make sure the problem was resolved. As a business owner, I appreciate the level of commitment to making sure the job is done correctly and correcting problems as they arise. Excellent customer service, super fast response time, fair pricing, and pleasant employees. I'm satisfied with the job and will continue to use Brian Anthony's for our HVAC needs."

Hi! The cost to refinish a standard 5ft tub in white or off white, would be $399. This assumes that the tub is not a jetted tub has not been done before (if it has, it will need to be stripped, add $100); and that the tub is in good shape structurally (no leaks, major cracks, or drainage issues). If this is a clawfoot tub, the above would apply to the inside only. To include the tub surround or if this is a 1pc fiberglass enclosure unit, add $250. If the work is different (sinks, counters, tile work etc.) we will need details and pictures, if you can. We'll get you a quote quickly. Our tubs come with a 5 year warranty, the job can take up to 4-5 hours to do, and cures in 16 hours to use. We use an acrylic urethane called GlassTech9000 and we also do the caulking, when applicable. We've been in business almost 50 years, refinished over 200,000 tubs, and have an A+ rating with the BBB. Call or email if you need any further info. Have a great day, we appreciate your interest! Thanks! Tom

"I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!! "The pool looks beautiful, and we are very happy with the appearance and quality of the products used and the construction methods. We especially like the multi-color brick-type coping  and the Diamond Brite plaster, which looks and feels beautiful and natural.  Izabella, the business owner, was very knowlegable, responsive and professional from start to finish, and the price was competitive with other vendors we interviewed.  The project was on target with budget and schedule.  Izabella visited our site after each stage and kept in touch by phone and email to ensure things were going well.  Her crews were professional and thorough, and they took their time.  We once had our pool refurbished by a different vendor in the past, and we thought that Price Right did a far superior job.  Highly recommended!

"Placed a call to B & M Pools on Saturday afternoon. Mark returned my call on Sunday he just happened to be in the neighborhood and said that he could come over today and take a look at the problem to see if he could unseize the motor. Mark was able to unseize the motor and provided me with some helpful pool hints for future maintenamce. In addition, Mark went to three locations to find the lowest cost for the impellar. I plan to continue using B & M Pools for all of my future pool maintenance."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"In October 2013, Robert sent me an email stating my service had been scheduled for 11/06/13 and he wanted me to confirm the date. I was a bit unsettled at the thought that if I had not read this email when I did and responded immediately, someone would have shown up at my house unannounced to perform a job I had not discussed with them. I called immediately and explained I was not ready and had stated that when I purchased the deal. Robert said he understood and would wait to hear from me. In February, I contacted Robert to explain that due to the extreme winter we had, my plans for the work had been postponed and that I would be in touch. Robert assured me my deal would not expire and to call him when I was ready. In recent months, I revisited the reviews for Rovase and became unsettled again at the poor service and communication reviews this company had received from other customers after I purchased the deal. I especially did not like the tone of provider in his responses to the complaints made by some unsatisfied customers. It reignited the doubts and uncomfortable feeling I had after receiving the first email in October, and I decided I did not feel comfortable working with them after all."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters repair or service projects in Philadelphia, PA

Replacing a pool heater costs $3,000 on average. Final pricing depends on the type of heater (gas, electric, or solar) and your pool's size. Factor for swimming pool repair costs, at an average of $3,800. When you start experiencing issues with your pool heater, other equipment and structural failures often follow. Installation is often the least expensive for electric and gas heaters. Heat pumps and solar panels often cost several thousand dollars more to install.

A pool heater’s lifespan is determined by its type and proper upkeep. Solar heaters last 20 to 25 years, electric heat pumps perform for five to 10 years, and gas heaters remain effective for 5 years. Regular pool maintenance safeguards performance and prevents premature failure. Ensuring that you adhere to a strict annual service schedule protects your investment and maintains consistent heating efficiency.

Depending on the size of your pool, location, climate, and current energy prices, you’ll spend up to $20 per hour to heat a pool using propane, $9 per hour using natural gas, and $1 to $2 per hour for a heat pump. Northern climates require more energy and can double the price. Standard estimates allow homeowners to easily estimate the cost of heating a pool for a month. Propane heaters, for example, are known to burn around 1 gallon per hour per 100,000 BTUs.

An electric or gas heat pump will take eight to 14 hours to heat a pool, while a solar heat pump takes 24 to 72 hours. Multiply the number of gallons by 8.34 to get your total pounds of water. Divide this figure by your heater's BTU rating to determine how many hours it takes to raise the water temperature by 1 degree Fahrenheit.

If your pool heater is not raising the water temperature to the desired level, the issue is caused by cold ambient conditions rather than a malfunction. The best solution is to install a solar cover that locks in heat and boosts efficiency. A solar cover costing $120 to $250 enhances heat retention, ensuring your heater performs at its peak. Additionally, verify that all settings—such as thermostat calibration and water circulation—are properly adjusted to support optimal heating.

Regular annual maintenance is crucial to keep your pool heater running efficiently and to avoid high repair costs. Investing $100 to $200 in yearly maintenance prevents issues such as excessive noise, surging energy bills, and malfunctioning controls. This proactive care not only prolongs your heater’s lifespan but also ensures reliable performance throughout the season. Always refer to your warranty guidelines to follow the required maintenance procedures.
