"I cannot say enough about Gilroy Northeast, their professionalism and work are truly impeccable. I most recently had them tear down a 30 year old wrap around deck and had it replaced with a trex front deck as well as a gorgeous techno bloc paved walkway for my vacation home. I did ALL this with them via email and phone calls since I live 2 hours away. The trex deck and paved walkway came out absolutely beautiful. The house looked totally brand new with a design above the norm, so much that I have received tons of compliments from everyone. Their work focuses on design with attention to detail with fine carpentry and hardscape/landscape. They are responsive and prompt. I am a repeat client and I will always come back to them without hesitation. I began this project via email/phone calls, John sent me sketches and ideas of what he thought would looked good, the design was far superior to what is out there. Lois took care of all permits, kept me abreast of all stages with emails/calls/project photos of the work from start to finish and critiqued colors/suggestions. Ordinarily, doing a project of this scope and not being there, you would expect some sort of stress along the way or that something may go wrong. This was not the case, the project ran fairly quickly, within budget and pretty seamless. It is very comforting to know you have total faith and confidence in your contractor, they stand behind their work and what they say they will do - which made this project stress free. I cannot thank them enough for their guidance, their design and workmanship, they are truly client focused to please. They are a team you will want to hire, you will be very happy you did, they are the best of the Poconos!"

Small jobs welcome

"John was hired by my neighbor to help with his sewer lateral replacement. When problems arose outside of his and my neighbors control with my sewer lateral, he not only came back to help troubleshoot, but worked an entire day in the frigid temperatures to make the necessary repairs, saving us from future damages to our properties. He even helped with the discussions with the borough to make repairs to code and according tot he borough's specifications. He is knowledgeable and professional and has his nose to the grind against any adverse conditions with his number one priority being that the job gets done to the best of his ability, and that it gets done right. I would recommend him time and time again!"

FAQs for septic system installation and replacement projects in Pocono Summit, PA

The smallest standard septic system uses a 500-gallon tank, which costs between $875 and $1,150 installed. This size works well for single-occupant dwellings with minimal wastewater production. However, many local regulations specify minimum tank sizes, so check with your building department before committing to this compact option. Some jurisdictions require at least 750 gallons regardless of home size to ensure adequate waste processing capacity.

The installation timeline varies based on site conditions, permit processing, and contractor schedules. The process includes obtaining permits, conducting soil tests, excavation, tank placement, leach field construction, and final connections. Weather conditions, soil challenges, and inspection scheduling can all affect the overall timeline. It's wise to begin planning well in advance of when you need the system operational.

The most economical approach is to install a conventional anaerobic system with a plastic tank. To minimize costs while maintaining legality, obtain multiple quotes from licensed installers, consider scheduling during their slower seasons, and handle basic site preparation yourself. Never skip permits or required testing to save money—illegal installations can result in significant fines and mandatory removal, ultimately costing far more than doing it right initially.

Regular pumping helps prevent system failures and extends operational life. Most small systems require pumping every three to five years, though frequency depends on household size and usage patterns. Pumping services cost between $290 and $530, making this maintenance expense relatively minor compared to potential repair costs ranging from $500 to $2,600 for neglected systems. Establishing a regular maintenance schedule based on your installer's recommendations helps avoid costly emergency services.
