"I had previously taken the truck to a Nissan dealer to have the check engine light diagnosed.  After they pulled the codes they seemed to have no idea what the issue was and wanted to charge me a second time for further diagnosis.  I just had some cracked belts replaced there and decided to have the major work done elsewhere.  Cox was able to easily determine that the knock sensor was bad and also found the cracked gas tank to be the source of the "evap gross leak".  The "random misfire" code was resolved by replacing the spark plugs and wires.  Some of the other work that was done was either suggested based on the mileage, or made sense to do at the same time other parts were replaced.  The staff was really friendly, knowledgeable and professional.  there was no pressure to do additional work and they called to update us on the diagnosis before the work was performed.  They use the manufacturer recommended parts (ie. platinum plugs in my case).  Some of the parts I needed had to be ordered from the dealer and Cox recognized that 2 of the parts recieved were incorrect for my vehicle before they were installed.  All in all I am thrilled to find a company that treats me the way they would want to be treated (thats their motto by the way)."

"DJ plumbing arrived as asked and attempted to provide the service as directed. DJ plumbing stated the drain piping was put in backwards or incorrect and could not be cleaned out. DJ plumbing retooled the sink plumbing added a flush out and relieved the stoppage (a wash cloth) in the kitchen drain."

"I'm not going to bad mouth them because I've used them for decades. I just didn't like the last visit and I'm not going to use them anymore. I'm in an old house and I know the plumbing has got to go sometime but the upstairs whenever I flushed the commode or took a shower the water would come down which means that the risers on the main floor I guess weren't working. The ceiling on the main floor where there was flooding and all of that needed to be replaced. It would have been a large expense and I decided I didn't want to do it because when you start working with old plumbing, this is about 80 years old, that could do a domino effect and you end up having to replace the entire plumbing system. So, anyway, I later on opted not to do anything but what bothered me was he had to chisel away the ceiling. In chiseling away part of the ceiling in the kitchen to see what the problem was he clogged up the little basin in the bath.  He didn't clean up anything and of course I couldn't use the clogged up bath because all this plaster had gone into it. It sort of turned me off. They were sort of vague on how much this all was going to cost. Having them come out was one thing. Anyway, that's why I don't want to use them again. I did call them and tell them they needed to come and unclog the pipes. They did come back out and they did get all the plaster out of the basin. I just thought it was kind of tacky. If they are going to leave something like that am I going to trust them to do thousands and thousands of dollars of work on plumbing?"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Pomfret, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
