"It had been over ten years since the last vent cleaning so we figured we were probably were over due. When I saw all the glowing air duct reviews, I decided to contact Whole Home Cleaners and got an appointment for the next day. I got a call the evening before Doug was to arrive that he was ill so I appreciate that he wouldn't come when he was sick and that the company let me know ahead of time. We rescheduled for the following day providing he felt better. Doug arrived 40 minutes after the scheduled time and got right to work. We did a walk through of the house pointing out all the vents and familiarizing him where all the vents were. Since he does this for a living he knew better than I where they would be. Doug was great with our dogs (Great Danes) and I was appreciative that I didn't need to board them in order for him to do the work. He caution me that he would need to leave the door a tad ajar so if there were any concerns about the dogs getting out that I was aware of this which was very conscientious of him. Doug also included a dryer vent clean out and said ours was very dirty and he would recommend dryer vents be cleaned out every two years . Realizing build up of lint in the dryer can make a dryer work much harder if its not cleaned out is a good recommendation not to mention the fire hazard so was glad that was done. He did the entire house in about 2 hrs and 45 minutes. He was very efficient and didn't leave any dirt and even took his shoes off to work. He showed me how he loosens the dirt from the main furnace returns and showed me all the dirt that was collected from the house which made me feel like it was worthwhile that we had done it and perhaps we'll see less dust for a while. Doug was a delight to work with and was kind and efficient. I would use him again. He does a great job and is a hard worker."

"Very well. They are craftsmen. Put up plastic barriers to keep down the dust in the rest of the house. They did a wonderful job. Our new bath looks beautiful. His designer helped me turn my ideas into real world structures. The materials they used and the workmanship of their installation is first class. They are a little more expensive than some but they can do all the things you want them to and do them correctly. We are very pleased with their work.

"I wouldn't call it "deep" cleaning, as my definition of that includes much more than what could be covered by two people in two hours.  Even so, it was very thorough for the time allotted and the price.  My regular cleaner was getting married, so couldn't come.  I have several bedrooms and a bath upstairs, plus a finished downstairs.  The regular person usually does the main level plus either the up or down level, so it was a trade-off to pay about $20 more than normal for less coverage.
They did a good job cleaning for the 2 hours they were here and the cost of the service.  They were both very nice and efficient.
I would hire them again except for one reason that may seem trivial, but is important to me.  I work from home so was present at the time of the service.  At one point I heard something hit the floor in the kitchen so from the next room, I asked if one of the magnets fell off of the fridge.  She replied that it did, but said nothing else.  The first time I went in the kitchen after they'd left, I noticed that one of my souvenier magnets was missing a piece, but was propped back on the fridge as if it wasn't broken.  It bothered me that she hadn't said anything while she was here.  I emailed her about it and she responded promptly and noted that she put the pieces back.  If she'd said something about it when she was here and it happened, I might have been able to locate the missing piece to repair it.
While the magnet is a small thing and not that important, I'd rather she have told me when it happened and not prop it back up as if it hadn't broken.  When someone isn't straight up with me on small things I have trouble trusting and tend to wonder about other things too.  The difference is that of 3 others who've cleaned for me in the last 10 years, a couple of them accidentally broke something and told me right away, it built trust for me.  This situation did not.

"She was very accessible by email and gave me some good ideas.  Since it was all done through email, I didn't have any personal interaction.  I would have liked some ideas on window coverings, but just assumed that was not part of the deal.  It was fun to get a professional critique and I liked her decorating choices and her paint color choices. I didn't really want someone to come and redo my room for me, just wanted some ideas so I could do it myself, so this worked out for me very well."

FAQs for tile, stone, marble clean, grout, polish and maintain service projects in Pomona, KS

Sealing grout delivers excellent value by creating a moisture barrier that prevents water penetration, staining, and deterioration. Unsealed grout becomes a magnet for dirt and moisture, which can lead to discoloration, mold growth, and eventual breakdown of the grout structure. Regular sealing maintenance creates a protective barrier that not only preserves your tile's appearance but also simplifies routine cleaning and extends the overall lifespan of your installation.

When combining professional grout cleaning with sealing services, expect to pay between $3 and $4 per square foot for challenging surfaces like natural stone or heavily soiled areas. This comprehensive approach ensures your grout is thoroughly cleaned before sealer application, maximizing the effectiveness and longevity of the treatment. The cleaning process removes embedded dirt and contaminants that might otherwise become sealed into the grout, providing superior long-term results.

Certain grout formulations, particularly epoxy-based products, come with built-in moisture resistance that eliminates the need for additional sealing. These specialized grouts naturally repel water and resist staining without supplemental treatment.

Additionally, if your existing grout still demonstrates good water-beading properties from previous sealing, immediate reapplication may be unnecessary. Professional contractors evaluate your specific grout type, condition, and location before making recommendations about sealing requirements.

An average DIY grout sealing project for a 160-square-foot area requires about three hours, though this timeline can extend significantly for first-time applicators or challenging spaces. Professional contractors can complete the same area in two to five hours, depending on project complexity and required preparation. The experience gap often shows in application consistency and efficiency, with professionals delivering more uniform coverage in less time than most homeowners can achieve, especially on initial attempts.
