"Techs on Site: Uriel and Dan These guys were freakin awesome! I thought the price for work was fair comparative to the market. However, the Techs made it worth every penny. They were on time, work was done quickly, they made sure to clean up the site, and they were extremely friendly. They spoke with us to make sure the fans were being placed to our specifications before installing. They made sure to walk us through the remotes for the fans and made sure to show us that there were no balancing issues with the fans. For the troubleshooting/fix, we a few dead outlets, that we could not figure out the cause, Uriel found this issue was a GFI outlet (that seemed to work) that their meter found. If I ever need to hire a licensed electrician I will most definitely hire RK Electric and ask for the same techs, even if I had to wait longer for the work to be completed."

"The owner told me he would have a man come out who would call me first to tell me when he was coming to my house. Apparently he did not tell his worker to do this though and he just showed up . Nonetheless, once he arrived, he went right to work and finished quickly. In fact, he had enough time left to replace an old outside security flood light with a new one, I have had sitting on a shelf for at least 6 months, ready to be installed."

"We had a new gas furnace installed by RothHome. The install was really well done. It was an all day job. Workers were just great and I was able to ask questions about the installation. We had an air conditioner put it at same time the furnace was installed. After using the air conditioner for the summer we had our routine checkup for furnace and air conditioner. The worker that worked on our checkup noticed that the wiring looked like it melted the plastic at the terminal. He went back to the office and alerted the management of what he found. They came right out that day and rewired the condtioner. This company is really on top of things and no charge to fix the problem. I want to say the technician that found the problem was amazing to find this problem before it could have been worse. I need to mention his name as I was so impressed with his knowledge. His name is Alexander Neumann. What a plus for RothHome. Thanks to him and thanks to RothHome will always use them. Thanks."

"The short answer, it went perfectly.  I've had Charles perform work for me a few years ago, where he repaired a shower floor (different bathroom) that was improperly done (he didn't install it, he was making it right).  His knowledge of his craft is obvious, and his attention to detail, and pride in his work is equally obvious.

For the bathroom remodel, he and his crew tore everything out.  All the tile, the old vanity, the old tub, everything.  The full demolition was done in a single day, very impressed.  Throughout this, he and his crew were mindful of a potential mess, and used their own throws and mats, along with HEPA filters running constantly in the room to contain the demo.  The rest of my house really didn't see any effects from the demolition.

Everything after that was prepped (cement-board, building up the shower half-wall, etc.) by his crew, who are awesome guys.  All of them were very professional, very nice, got along with my dog and cats, which is a big deal for me.  Once it was all good to go, I went out of town for a week, and they continued working while I was gone.  The shower floor had been poured, and the tile-work was nearly complete when I came home.  Just a few more working days and the bathroom was completed.

I had an idea in my head of what it would look like, and how it turned out far exceeded my expectations.  It is stunning.  A few friends have been to the house and are shocked when they see it.  I'm very glad I waited to have the cash ready to have Charles do this work.

I *highly* recommend him.  I've already started planning my next project, which is a fairly involved remodel of my kitchen.  I will be hiring Charles for that work, no questions asked."

"We had some holes in our foundation vents that mice were getting into and making a nice little home under our kitchen sink. We called the three top-rated handymen companies listed on Angie's List and Walt was the only one to call me back. He was very nice, arrived right when he said he would, and was quick and efficient. We are extremely happy with the work he did and will definitely call on him for future services."

"Everything went well.  Arrived on time, performed the inspection and reported that we had a sturdy foundation; a few minor cracks but nothing that needed to be addressed.  No leaking or water damage discovered.  This professional business man was sincere and caring and did not recommend unnecessary work or turn this Angie's List "Big Deal" into a bigger deal!  I recommend Ethereal highly to anyone in need of his expertise!  If the need arises, we will certainly seek out the assistance of Ethereal Elements again!

"I needed a Tesla charger installed in my garage. They showed up to the house quickly, and were very knowledgeable on what to do and what i needed. They installed it within an hour, with very quality parts, and were very neat and tidy about it too. No issues since install! I definitely would consider them again in the future!"

"I had my kitchen completely gutted for a new layout and a lot of built in storage. Had the wall between kitchen and living room removed and also wall removed between living room and split level entry. Wrought iron railing installed. Fireplace refaced and wired for tv. Rewiring and new electrical panel installed. New floors and painting. I had a lot of questions during the process and Rick was so patient and kind in answering them. His crew is amazing and if I decide to have any more remodeling done I certainly will welcome them back"

FAQs for attic or whole house fan installation projects in Portland, OR

Installing an attic fan lowers attic temperatures and reduces moisture, protecting stored items and extending the life of roofing materials. It also prevents mold, mildew, and paint deterioration, enhancing energy efficiency and comfort in the home. This type of protection helps you avoid costly repairs in the future and maintains the integrity of your home.

Installing an attic fan may require multiple professionals. A roofing specialist or carpenter can create the vent and mount the fan securely, while a licensed electrician connects the system to the home's electrical supply. A dedicated attic fan installer may be able to tackle all of these areas themselves, so be sure to confirm what services they can provide. Hiring qualified professionals ensures the installation is safe and the attic fan operates reliably.

The lifespan of an attic fan depends on the type and how well it is maintained. Passive attic fans can last 40 to 50 years, while electric and solar models typically last 10 to 15 years. Regular cleaning and maintenance help ensure the fan operates reliably and safely. Ask your installation pro for their recommendations for ongoing maintenance and service to help your attic fan last for as long as possible.
