"Repaired a very large set of brick steps. I had started the deconstruction and reconstruction but in over a month only completed 20% of the project. In 4 days 3 Brother's Masonry completed the project beautifully and even did some unrelated extra work for the quoted estimate. I agree with all of the other reviews prompt, efficient, courteous, etc."

"We needed our entire roof replaced. The group of installers did an outstanding job. They were so efficient and thorough in all aspects including an immaculate clean up of the property afterwards. The lead for the crew, and the project manager were so personable and communicative!! Our roof looks great and we would absolutely recommend them to anyone that needs roofing work done on their structure."

"It went flawlessly. The three guys arrived on time and made fast work of disassembling our granite slab front steps, by hand. They created a new reinforced base with crushed stone and reassembled the slabs to a new level surface. They patched two concrete retaining walls. Then the attacked the 37-year dirt build-up on our large concrete patio. They cut and filled a few large cracks and pressure washed the surface so that it now looks like a completely different patio. I could not be happier with the completed results of these three too-hard-for-us projects. Excellent work by three very hardworking professionals!"

"Gary did a great job with a challenging repair to our 180yr old brick cape. Did a fantastic job mating the repair work to the original brick work of the house so you can barely tell anything was even done when he was completed with everything. True craftsman who understands how to work with old brick structures the right way to maintain the look and charm. Highly recommend."

"Our foundation is around 100 years old. Maguire Masonry trenched around our entire foundation, removing pavement, concrete, dirt, trees, and stumps. They were originally planning to dig down 30" around the entire house, while removing all trees and stumps which were too close and/or growing inside the foundation. As the work started and some tree stumps were pulled out of the foundation, our basement started flooding more than usual, so Peter decided to dig that section down 6 feet below ground, rather than just the 30", put a ton of cement down in that area, and rebuild the corner entirely, at no extra cost to us. We had some scrap materials in the yard, and they used those for framing new concrete in our yard. They took all of the paint off the bricks and performed a beautiful restoration job of the brickwork. All of the work appears to be done very well."

"Rich gave me very important critical information over the phone to allow me to make a decision. He did not want renumeration. He gave me expert advice and a method to proceed. I learned about my concrete block basement and the reasons for the leaking. I can now approach the company that originally helped with the new construction for their help."

"Southern Maine Masonry came out, reviewed the project, and never gave an estimate. I followed up with a phone call and asked about the estimate. I was told that he would check with his son and never heard back."

"Buying a new roof is a major expense and something we never had to do until this year and we had a lot of anxiety going into the process. We thoroughly researched and reviewed many quotes from several companies / contractors. All came in roughly about the same dollar amount but none gave us "warm and fuzzy" feeling. When we decided to move forward with one, all of a sudden they came back with "a math error" on the quote to the tune of about 25% with no explanation or apology. That led us to find one more new vendor and that's when we found Roofing King. I was immediately put at ease once I experienced the professionalism of the office staff who compassionately worked with us to explore financing options. I knew from the first phone call I was dealing with a "real company" not just some guy who has a magnetic sign on the side of his pick up truck. It was a no-brainer and and the whole experience only got better every step of the way. Roofing King is a well oiled machine. There is a clear and very efficient process, highly professional and knowledgeable staff and the quality of the end product could not have exceeded our expectations further. I never thought a new roof would be such a work of art and would make our house look so amazing. I would be happy to provide direct feedback to anyone who may be going through the stressful process of researching and buying a new roof. There simply is not better choice than Roofing King."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Portsmouth, NH

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
