"The water company said that the entire meter well needed to be dug up and replaced to repair the leak. Several estimates for that were $2000-$4000. Amanda Plumbing found out from the water company that they could just replace the pipes in the meter well without excavation. However, in the end, the entire problem was resolved by just replacing a couple of gaskets. As President of the HOA, I was extremely happy with their solution and will definitely call them for any future plumbing needs."

"The plumber was professional and experienced however I think I was charged too much for a small job. The replacement part was a single piece  of pipe with a shut off valve that could not have cost much <br />"

"Job went well. They cut the price of gas line connect because we bought the lugs from them. The tech was able to use some of the existing gas line to save us $100 off the labor. Logs, remote with thermostat, + gas line connection all cost $1012."

"This project went off without a hitch. I called Accurate Plumbing on a Monday, bought the tank ourselves on a Tuesday, and they were out Thursday to install. From start to finish, the job took about 90 minutes and the area was cleaned up nicely before they left. Great experience. Would highly recommend. Thanks to Greg, filling in for Service Manager, Mike, for his quick replies and fair quote. Thanks to Justin, the lead installer, and his apprentice, Logan, for their professionalism and quality install. You were all such a pleasure with which to work. Thanks for making this experience an easy, hassle-free install."

"<p>First let me say that we had 5 heating people in our house and didn't have heat for two months. We keep telling people that something wasn't right. Three companies came in and told us to buy a new heater. One company told us that the vents were clogged to have them cleaned. We did have the vents cleaned and that was not the problem. This company came in and started initially saying the same thing. He thought the vents might be clogged. Then he noticed that the gas furnace had an exhaust smell. He immediately shut it off. Then he told us that our 90%r furnaces have warranties on the heating elements for life. No other companies told us that! They just wanted us to buy a new heater. Turns out our gas heater had caught fire and we were lucky to be alive.  They replaced the heating element and we only had to pay labor since they checked and it was under warranty.  I have to tell you..... I was very impressed with this company! Don't use American Air they were the worse encountered! </p> <br />"

"They service water heaters for the Columbia Gas Water Heater Service plan. They were notified of the service call but didnt call in 24 hours like Columbia Gas Dispatcher said they would. Once the plumber arrived he did a great job repairing the water heater. No charge since the repair is covered under the water heater service plan."

"The first appointment they came out and repaired the service line and checked the water pressure - they determined it was above the recommended psi (105-110 psi during mid morning. We scheduled them to come back and install a pressure reducing valve and then scheduled a third appointment for them to come out to the home at the same time someone from water and sewer District was to be at our house. They removed the prv to prove to the water district that the water pressure coming in from the main line was too high. Until that moment the water district refused to believe that the psi was that high. Then the plumbers reinstalled the pressure reducing valve. They were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. I know I paid extra to have them come out so many times but it was well worth it to prove the problem to the water supply folks who had just brought a new water plant on line a few months prior."

"I can only say good things about this company. The work was excellent, the tech was very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. When every you have natural gas work done it can be scary, but I have complete confidence that the job was done right. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs plumbing done. They are my go-to from now on. Sorry I could not provide a photo of the work, but I ask them to hide the line as best as possible and they did. So there is no picture to take."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Prospect, OH

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
