Customers say: Terrific value

"There were a of communication (or lack of on the part of the company) and scheduling issues. When the workers arrived they finished the project, but told me they didn’t have a truck to haul away the rubble. I was too tired to argue, so it was left for me to shovel and rake. Later, I noticed that the workers cut expansion joints but did not cut up to the house because they didn’t have the correct tool, so they just left it. I had to call for them to come back and finish it. They also chipped part of the concrete. When I pointed it out, I was told to just fill it with sealant, and it would be alright. The concrete slab is good, but I wouldn’t really recommend them. Too much hassle."

"<p>I actually used this company in 2014 when it was House Doctors.  My experience with them as House Doctors was okay.  The owner was punctual and a worker came out to do the repairs but what I expected to be a few hours turned into an all day.  Some of the original work was repairing a piece of my floor which meant sawing up a piece of the floor board, cutting a new piece to size, and nailing it back down and the worker was wearing slouchy, baggy shorts and flip flops.  I felt they were a little pricy but I also realized I was calling a handyman and paying more for convenience than anything.  </p> <p>In 2015 I called the name on my House Doctors receipt and found out the company had changed it's name.  I called them to come out and quote installing some crown molding in the living room, attaching some fixtures in the bathroom, and installing new lights and a mirror.  The owner again was very punctual but spend quite a bit of time explaining to me why he had cut ties with the House Doctors franchise.  He also disagreed with me on how I wanted the crown molding and seemed to charge way to much for simple installations in the bathroom. In the end, we didn't use It's Done as there quote was the highest and probably won't use them in the future.  They are punctual but that is pretty much where the positive ends.  They seem overpriced for the services they are providing and will only do it the way they want to and not really listen to what your asking for.  </p> <br />"

"USS came and gave us an estimate in the rain. A very patient guy explained everything and then looked at every inch of the outside and basement to create a drawing for the team. He explained that some of the work may be one of two ways and he would let us know on the actual estimate which way is best. He had looked at the structural engineer's report before he came out and agreed with all of the suggestions made therein, and suggested a process and a timeframe for the work. They were able to work us in before the end of the year and completed the work within the stated time-frame even with a holiday weekend in the mix. The workmen were professional and did not litter in my yard or basement. If we need further work done, USS is tops on our list."

"<p>He was punctual and kept us informed of each step in the process and who would be coming when to do what.  He regularly inspected the work to ensure that everything was done correctly and that needed corrections were made without additional costs.</p> <p>We had some design ideas of our own, but he participated with us in coming up with the desired look and features.  His staff, workers and subcontractors were very courteous, worked hard, and were knowledgeable in their areas, with the exception of an electrical subcontractor who made a number of errors.  They replaced him with a very qualified electrician and didn't charge for the corrections.</p> <p>When they were bringing the very heavy cast iron tub into the house (5 men had to carry it), they let it touch the hall floor and scratch it.  No problem.  When everything in the bathroom was finished, they had excellent floor workers repair the hall floor, which included sanding and refinishing the entire hall hardwood floor at no cost to us. </p> <p>Everyone wanted to be sure that we were pleased with the work as it progressed and with the finished product.</p> <p>The only downside to the project was the cost.  We elected to go with a cost type contract and should have used a fixed price contract so we would know from the beginning what to expect.  We chose quality items for the remodel and cost was considerably more than what we had thought.  Build With Wilson did help us from their side as much as they could and we appreciate that.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"They did an excellent job.  It was pretty much to look good; it really did improve the way the back of the house looked.  So we built a new deck but we put the wall underneath so that it kind of framed the area so that it did not look so eroded.  He was able to match the stone on the other parts of our house because he knew the quarry from where these stones came from.  The house was built 25 years ago.  I thought he would only give us a snow job but it wasn’t.  He matched them.  It looks fantastic. He has been in business for years.  I got them through recommendation.  Price wise I did not compare it with anybody else.  I have absolutely no complains."

"I liked the work that they did. They left some hardware in that we had to replace but I think it was a little effective anyway. I thought it was a good deal. They did pretty good. They were really responsive. They were very professional. They just didn't let us know about the hardware problems and we had to find it ourselves."

"Each of the last 3 yrs has gone well. I haven't had any problems with any of the work. I did have a few plants die, which he promptly replaced. His crew have always been hard workers and respectful. I will continue to have Artscapes do work for me.  He has recently started doing stone work that is absolutely gorgeous.  It's simulated stone, but you honestly can't tell it and it is SO much cheaper and quicker than real granite.  I'm hoping to have him do a small waterfall or fountain or maybe even a wall across our back fence in 2013, if my taxes didn't go TOO high!  He had a really nice booth at the home show, so if you're interested in something like that, check it out.He had a large BBQ grill setup all made out of this new "stone".  It looked cool, but we rarely grill.  We always get a lot of compliments on how our yard looks (and our front walkway and porch!).  Our maintenance isn't always up to snuff, but that's our own fault.  The grass isn't always green, but that's what a drought will do.  I honestly plan to NEVER have anyone else make decisions on the management of our yard. <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Pulaski, TN

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
