"VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. I don't normally write reviews, but the service we were provided through this company with Wyatt was so exceptional that I am writing this one. The receptionist was courteous, quick to understand our needs and to send someone out (Wyatt B) to work them. We were given a time-frame for his arrival, his name, and a text message with photo id 10 minutes before his arrival. He was on time, did a thorough inspection of our areas of concern, was curteous, professional, knowledgeable, and suggested several courses of action. There was no pressure to choose a particular course of action, just knowledgeable input, and questions and responses were given serious consideration. With the help of his apprentice, Milton, Wyatt was able to remove our old water heater (with great care and no damage at all to our stairs or walls), obtain and install our new one, all in one day. He carefully explained how to operate the new one, and what we need to do to maintain it. The faucets were inspected and fixed (bathroom) and our new kitchen faucet installed. All this in one day! They were careful to clean up what little mess the job made. We called with a question 4 days after the job was completed, and got a very quick response. Cannot say enough about the integrity, quality, and honesty of this worker and I think I can rightly say from his remarks, this company. Highly recommend and we will definitely use this company for any future plumbing needs. The price was in normal limits."

"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"We love our new bathroom. Install was completed in a day as promised. Our installer, Hector, went above and beyond. He made the install go seamlessly and the end result was amazing. Chris was also part of the install team and kept the job flowing and did an excellent job at clean up!!! Thanks for transforming our bathroom. Would definitely recommend!"

"Love it! There was no question that we wanted Steve Everett of Dream Maker Bath and Kitchen to remodel our bathroom, as he had remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and we were very familiar with his integrity, professionalism, skill and dedication. It took about 5 weeks to complete the job, and that is about what we expected. Steve hires only top notch professionals to work with him, so they were all very skilled, hard working, prompt, pleasant and made every effort to coordinate their schedule and to minimize disruption to our household. They removed part of a wall, which enlarged our bath to accommodate an extra set of storage cabinets, and made a porcelain tiled shelf on the window box behind the free standing tub. We joked that it would be a great place to set a wine glass! Our old shower was enlarged and replaced with a glass enclosed, tiled shower. The dual sinks were replaced along with the cabinets and counter top. Flooring was replaced with porcelain tile. We love our "new" master bath and kitchen! Every day feels like we are on vacation and staying in a luxury condo! If you have an idea for your kitchen and/or bath, Steve Everett can make it come to life! We highly recommend him!"

"We love our new shower and tub that Noah installed for us last week. He was able to remove the old tub by himself and then worked through a downpour to make sure our bathroom was finished in two days instead of the planned three days. We will definitely be recommending Five Star Bath Solutions to our friends and family."

"We selected DMV based on our previous experience with the company, starting with Rolando who successfully remodeled our kitchen and 3 baths back in 2015. This time we had an emergency and Javier responded quickly, asking his men to remove a cracked tub and demolish the surrounding tiles. In their place they installed a new tub and plumbing plus beautiful new tiles for the surrounding wall, adding 2 grab bars, one for the tub and the other for the Master shower to prevent our slipping and falling. They cleaned the grout in our Master shower and Hall tub, applied silicone and sealant, and painted the baseboard and wall near the tub. Aside from the work in the bathroom and shower, they replaced the screen in an exterior window, secured some areas in the garage ceiling with screws, and removed, painted and reinstalled our exterior shutters. Muchas gracias to David and David! Bon trabajo! During the early, uncertain days of the Pandemic when we were nervous to have anyone do remodeling inside our house, we asked Javier to do some work outdoors. He ordered a wood storage shed from Home Depot and it was delivered to our front yard without telling anyone. The DMV men unpacked the box and discovered some necessary parts were missing so returned to Home Depot to buy them. They leveled the slope in our backyard and set the foundation for the shed. Then they added shingles, windows, doors, and a ramp. They painted the outside of the shed and added a ramp, selecting a sturdier paint for the latter. They installed a screen all around the bottom edge of the shed to provide ventilation and keep the animals out. Finally they moved the items to be stored from our garage to the new shed, opening up more space in the garage for the remodeling of the 1st and 2nd floors of our house. Muchas gracias to Jose, Carmina, Orlando, and Wilmer! Bon trabajo! Finally after a long wait due to the Pandemic we remodeled the 1st and 2nd floors of our house with Javier once again in charge. The workmen skillfully disassembled and/or moved furniture, file cabinets, supplies, and 100s of books and other items to different locations in the house and garage. Then they installed new lighting: 53 recessed lights, 9 dimmers, and a new electrical outlet near the vanity. When a bookcase was added on the right side of my new digital organ they moved the organ to the left along with 2 recessed lights shining above the organ to more effectively illuminate the music rack. And finally they installed a special circuit breaker for the organ. They installed cabling for 3 internet connections to the computer network giving access to the basement, living room, and 2nd floor. They installed the wiring for electrical power to 3 printers, one on each floor. Next they replaced our carpet with beautiful hardwood floors in 7 rooms, a small hallway, and a stairway. They removed 5 single doors on the 2nd floor and replaced them with solid core doors. They installed and painted 2 bi-folding doors for our utility closets. They painted the walls in 7 rooms, a small hallway, and a stairway first removing wallpaper in one room and 2 wall borders. They took special care in the den, repairing one wall and a big hole in the ceiling before painting. They did a great job of painting the ceilings, touching up 4 textured ceilings and smoothing out 3 others in a more elaborate process that included repairing drywall and removing texture, preparing the ceiling for painting, and then actually painting it. They installed and painted shoe molding in 7 rooms. And last but not least they repaired bathroom door frame and painted the nearby wall and a baseboard that had some paint splotches from a previous job. The DMV workmen did some additional jobs not related to repairing and painting walls and ceilings, or installing hardwood floors. The installed 5 smoke detectors, 7 curtain rods, a new Bosch dishwasher, and new blinds to replace blinds accidently damaged. They caulked a bathtub, cleaned grout in a shower and caulked the area near its door. In order to prevent heavy bookcases from toppling over they secured 10 bookcases to the wall. And in a final visit they even tightened screws in the kitchen cabinets installed by the previous DMV contractor. Muchas gracias to the 2 Maynors, Geovany, Jesus, David, Danillo, Diego and the flooring team, Grover, Luis, Orlando, and Fairo. Bon travajo! The quality of materials and workmanship on the outdoor shed and remodeling of bathroom, first and second floors was exceptional. Because we are an elderly couple we really appreciated the extra help in moving things around throughout the projects. The workmen were punctual, polite, honest, skilled, hardworking, and flexible in adjusting to changes from time to time. They always took care in sealing off work areas, covering floors, and cleaning up at the end of the day. The price seems reasonable because sometimes they did extra work not previously budgeted like extra painting or changes when were not satisfied or had new ideas. Javier is great at planning, communicating and executing the work, but could certainly benefit from having a right-hand man to assist him when he is not immediately available. We would highly recommend DMV and have already signed a contract for remodeling our basement that includes vinyl flooring, lighting, painting, and installation of storage shelves. "We are so pleased with our kitchen renovation completed by WaterStone Kitchen and Bath. We didn’t know about them until a family friend recommended that we reach out to Jeff Thompson. We were in the midst of getting several bids and I didn’t know if I should get another. Oh my goodness. We are so happy that we did! During our first meeting, both Jeff and Deanna Llewellyn, his fantastic designer, met with us to look at our space, listen to our ideas and then they immediately started bouncing ideas off of one another. The out-of-the box thinking and design ideas were so welcomed! Jeff and Deanna proposed creating a walk-in pantry and making sure the lines in our kitchen were aligned. This hadn’t occurred to us and other companies hadn’t offered anything other than what we had proposed. Jeff and Deanna had us come into their office to see their proposal and drawings. We were so impressed and the space looked amazing in their drawings--two walls gone, a good sized walk-in pantry and lovely living space. Deanna immediately gave us ideas for cabinets and our island and they were exactly the color, offered the storage and presented the book shelves I was hoping for. We had a hard time containing our excitement. We feel their pricing was fair for the project they said they would be able to do. Their estimate was a little higher than our other bids but having gone with WaterStone, we feel they were worth the slightly higher price. Jeff even came up with ways where we could cut back on costs if we so chose. That was really helpful and gave us food for thought. Naturally we signed with them and they were able to do everything they promised in their designs! We intend to come back to Water Stone for future renovations. Jeff and his team came out right away to poke holes in walls and talk through his plans of moving plumbing and electrical components in our kitchen. They laid out a plan of attack and were able to start quickly and keep the renovation running, even during a pandemic. Luckily, we were able to move out during the renovation which I think helped the team get their work done more easily. Deanna was delightful to work with, always communicative and has wonderful taste. I knew I liked color and wanted to incorporate that into my granite, paint color and tiles. Once I had my granite selected, she helped to show me the best accents to go with it. She was also open to sourcing my pantry door from a new company that could provide frosted doors with interesting designs. I also found it helpful that she managed our expectations about timing as our renovation started right at the beginning of the pandemic. I would just love to work with Deanna again! Javier and his team who were assigned to our renovation were outstanding. Javier is incredibly talented and it’s amazing how much he can do. We were especially delighted when he was able to improve our pantry in several ways to allow us even more space. It’s fabulous! When we do another renovation, we would feel so lucky to get Javier and his team assigned to our home again. As with all renovations there are little bumps along the road and the only one we had for this renovation was when a batch of our new wood floors was a different tone from the other new boxes. Jeff immediately came out to look and the floor was fixed within days. Finally, it’s probably not many renovations where the “punch list” is almost non-existent but that was our renovation! My husband and I look at our open-space, beautiful kitchen and living area and can’t think of a single thing we would change. We feel spoiled by such a lovely experience, wonderful company, and genuinely nice people. We will absolutely come back to Water Stone when we want to renovate our home’s bathrooms. We hope that you consider Water Stone too--if you have anything near the experience we did, you’ll be beaming about your renovation as well!"

"Jose Munoz is a consummate and highly professional Class A contractor! He was highly recommended to me by a friend who had Jose do work at her house. Jose provided me an initial estimate for renovation of a bathroom that included conversion of a tub area to walk in shower, wall and floor tile work and carpentry to make it ADA compliant. Once the job started, I was so impressed with the quality of work that I expanded the job to include painting the interior of my house which had not been done in 20 years. His team laid floor coverings and thoroughly cleaned up the job site every day, so I was never concerned about any damage to my home. I had consistency with the same team members doing the entire job and they were very thorough in completing tasks too. I highly recommend Jose to do work if you desire high quality at a very reasonable price."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Purcellville, VA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
