"It went great! I didn't want to spend a lot of money. Their sales person( Mr. Williams), met me at the house and showed me several ways to keep the cost down. I had decided on granite counter tops for durability and maintenance but knew very little about the product. Mr. Williams took me to the show room that they use and answered all my questions about the different grades of granite offered. We found a color that blended well with my flooring. I ordered  the cabinets  and was not disappointed, and they arrived on schedule. The installation of the cabinets and counter tops went off without a hitch. "We requested estimates from 2 companies, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and Surfside Plumbing.  Benjamin Franklin responded punctually and gave us a written estimate.  We wanted to check prices so we called Surfside.  It took a couple of calls, but my husband finally spoke with the owner of Surfside.  He said it wasn't necessary to come out and look at the job and he quoted an hourly rate and an estimate of 1 to 3 hours to complete the job.  His estimate was considerably lower than Benjamin Franklin.  We told him we'd buy the sink and faucets and call to schedule an appointment.  Within a week we had both.  We called to schedule. 

The owner answered our call after several tries to reach him and said he would call back when reached his office.  No return call.  After a few days we finally called and spoke to the owner.  He said he would be out the next day.  He came out and suggested that the sink we purchased would not work well with our silestone counter top.  I agreed and we decided to buy a better quality sink.  Within a week we had the new sink.   Again we tried to schedule an appointment.  It took about a week to finally connect with the owner.  Our sink was finally installed.  The men that were sent to do the work did a great job.  And we saved a couple hundred dollars on installation.  Even considering the problems with scheduling, I think the owner tries to accommodate customers too much, we are very happy with the work that was done.

"The original repair date was July 30, 2024 8:00-5:00. At 12:04, I received an email that the technician Trever was on his way. When he had still not arrived and I had not heard from him, I tried calling the Sears Home Service number and was unable to speak to a person to ask what may have happened. I then called Choice and was told they have no control over the companies they hire to provide the repair services but would reach out to Sears to schedule another person. I then received an email that the technician commented "customer declined service" with a payment receipt for $300.00. WHAT!! Trever never arrived and we never declined service to a person who wasn't here and didn't call. I waited all day for him!! Then Sears Home Services had the nerve to send an email asking for me to rate the excellence of service. I couldn't believe it. Meanwhile my dishwasher still hasn't been repaired or evaluated. The next morning, Wednesday, July 31, William C from Sears Home Services called and said he would be here between 12:00 and 12:30. He arrived about 12:45 and went right to work trying to figure out the problem with the dishwasher. He determined that the cost of repair would exceed $450 and it would take at least a week for the parts to be delivered . He spoke to Michelle at Choice Home Warranty and she said she would let him know whether it should be repaired or replaced. She did call back a few minutes later to say it would be replaced. Not long after that I did receive an email from Choice with that news and the allowance of $246 instead of a replacement. I went to Lowe's to see what I could purchase to replace my dishwasher. The $246 barely covers the $174 delivery and installation and $50 charge to remove the old dishwasher. I ended up tapping the "accept" option b/c I felt pressured. The salesman at Lowe's said it would be at least two weeks for any new dishwasher to be delivered to the store and then scheduled for delivery and installation. Also, I have to pay up front for the entire costs involved. Your email stated it could take up to 30 days to receive the eCard for Lowe's. In the meantime, I STILL don't have a dishwasher. I would very much appreciate CHW expediting the eCard for Lowe's so I can purchase a new dishwasher."
