First off, Emergency Air runs the sleazy used car dealer playbook - presenting monthly payments vs. total price, claiming it will be impossible to get your problem resolved if you don't sign up right now, acting like they are your friend giving you the best deal and why would you shop around? They provided a quote of $23,000 for a single stage HVAC install (attached). Upon calling 3 other established, licensed, well reviewed contractors, I received quotes between $8,000 and $15,000 depending on equipment/brand/etc. None of the other 3 were pushy and insisted on needing to make a decision today. No slimeball used car dealer tactics. You can look up for yourself what new single stage HVAC is for a 1300 sq ft home. It's well under $23,000 and no brand or contractor can justify charging 2-3x market rate....unless that contractor is Emergency Air, apparently. When called out on the fact their pricing is insane, our sales rep started asking if the other quotes were "Builder Quality" which is made up. Go Google what "builder quality HVAC" is.
