"The replacement of our 15 year old HVAC system went well. Pricing was competitive with others and customer service was great. There were a couple of issues we brought up regarding the installation and Elliot addressed them immediately. We are very pleased with the system installed, and will use Cincinnati Heating and Air Conditioning for service and other needs. Elliot is very honest and all involved were very courteous, especially regarding COVID 19 precautions and concerns."

"The team was very knowledgeable and professional. The work was neat and clean, above and beyond expectations. They went above what was required by cleaning my humidifier and replacing the pad. So happy I chose Schneller and Knochelmann!"

"My new furnace and central air installation went smoothly and was done in 1 day. The installation team were professional and polite and worked diligently. This company gave me the best price being almost $3000 less than the other two estimates. They also had a special of a free Aprilaire humidifier which the other companies told me would cost over $600. Zane also handled sending the information to Duke Energy to receive the $425 Duke offered for installing high efficiency furnaces. The cost of the higher efficiency furnace actually came in less than the lesser efficiency furnace after the Duke Energy funds were calculated. Could not be happier with their service"
Logan A/C & Heat Services offered value, competitive pricing, top of the line Trane equipment, nice financing options that other companies did not offer. Dan was my sales rep that offered the above services. Bobby was the installer & was professional & did a great job. Install was scheduled on a Monday after I committed on a Friday; so very quick! "Jeff and his associates did a great job installing our Heat Pump/AC unit. Had to replace some of the old components. Which was a trip to the store. But only charged me for the new components no added labor. Which took about 1 hour to install. Also installed a new wifi thermostat. I would highly recommend West Chester H/AC."

"The biggest obstacle was scheduling.  The Angie's List confirmation email did not include the instruction to schedule on the Flow-Rite web site.  It took 3 or 4 emails to clarify that which delayed getting the work scheduled.
The replacement parts worked fine with the exception of some excess plastic on the valve which prevented a tight seal and thus lead to a running toilet.  It took a few minutes with the razor blade to cut the excess off and allowed the seal to form properly.  This probably should have been done by the installer.

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Cincinnati, OH

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
