"For years I dealt with a musty, damp, and occasionally wet unfinished basement. I reached out to a few different waterproofing companies who came to my house and assessed my basement situation. Everdry Waterproofing with their well established full-service waterproofing stood out as the company for me. The Everdry contractor assessed both the interior and exterior foundation of my basement then presented me with various options they offered. I chose to go with their patented multi-step system which addressed both the interior and exterior foundation and included an EZ Breathe Ventilation system and a Lifetime transferable warranty. The EZ Breathe is an ultra quiet ventilation system designed to rid your space of moisture, humidity, and pollutants preventing mold, mildew, and odor. This has been a huge asset. The staff and crews were professional and completed the work in a timely manner. My bsmt is dry, finished and now a comfortable space to relax."

"I hired them to repair a crack in my basement wall that had a small leak. They were very professional. They filled the crack with foam injections and backed their work with a 5-year transferrable warranty. I had discussed this with other companies that wanted to charge me thousands of dollars and dig up my foundation for a little crack. These guys were good, quick, efficient and helpful. They gave me other tips for finishing my basement while they were there. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend them."

"The crews were extraordinarily polite, friendly, efficient, and very energetic. They ran into a lot of underground water when digging the trench for the buckled wall repair, but were able to put in the necessary reinforcements from inside the basement extending out to the trenched area. We live in an area with a lot of underground springs and artesian water, and when they began work the dirt under the foundation and crawl space was just wet mud, and water poured in at 36 inches deep as they created an outlet for the water to be safely drained away from the house. The basement is completely dry and we have a back up sump pump. My basement is surrounded by a crawl space since it was added after the house was built. The sump pumps and dehumidifier are warrantied for 5 years and the waterproofing has a lifetime warranty. Our house had problems because the basement was added after the house was built, but Indiana Foundation was able to make the house safe, and completely dry and usable. Since we live on a hillside, we will be adding a French drain behind the house and garage, far enough away to not further damage any of the foundations, but at the natural flow of the hillside where water collects to run down hill or underground. If we go at least 36 inches deep, it should help reduce some of the water that flows into the house area. This was some advice given by the supervisor at Indiana Foundation. They don't install French drains any longer, as they don't carry away all water and don't carry a guarantee, but in our situation it will probably help and is something I will be contracting out in the near future. The French drain is similar to what farmers install in fields to drain away excess water to a creek or deep ditch. It isn't something we have to do, but it will put a lot less strain on the sump pumps and other equipment, and in case of a long term power outage, would likely save our other appliances too (furnace, water heater, walls, etc.). I love the battery back up pump and it has already been in use twice when we had two separate power outages from storms. The workmen from Indiana Foundation were delightful to have in my home, running in and out with loads of materials, cheerfully hammering the walls and floors to install their system. Second: My electrician was able to repair a line running to our garage after the water problem was resolved. Water poured in over the connections in the basement without our realizing it, and no electricity was live in the back room of the garage. New basement, New Electric, New Plumbing - we are very happy with the results!"

"Our downstairs bedroom and bathroom were freezing cold. A BSI insulation engineer came in to size up the problem and provide a solution. They insulated the basement and crawl space of our 1893 Plantation home and now our said rooms are warm and inviting. We are so grateful to them and will save a ton of money in heating costs in the years to come. So happy and so grateful. What a great company."

"Fisher Restoration has really been a lifesaver for me. They’ve handled some big jobs at my place, including a full basement renovation after flooding, fixing a bathtub pipe leak, and rebuilding my front steps that were falling apart from wood rot. Every project has been done really well and with a lot of care. What I love most about working with them is how easy they are to talk to. They’re kind, they actually listen, and they explain everything in a way that makes sense. I always know what’s going on, what I’m paying for, and what will help keep my home in good shape."

"The Foundation Doctor did a great job! Don appeared to be very knowledgeable about foundations and drainage issues. He gave some very helpful suggestions, and actually recommended that we do less work than we thought we might have to do. There were a few delays in the process due to weather and other circumstances that Don couldn't foresee or control, but he kept us informed about the process--and delays--along the way. His team did some repointing of mortar for us which was a little messy. When we asked Don about this, he and his team came back to our home and cleaned things up pretty well. We were very pleased with the work Foundation Doctor did, and have found that it pretty much corrected our basement water problem. We have been managing that for many years, so we wish we had called them sooner!"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Richmond, IN

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
