"Town and Country Door was able to install my door opener the very next day! They gave me a 2-hour window for installation, so I didn't have to wait all day. Justin, the installer, called me when he was on his way. His install was timely and clean! He showed me how everything operated. He took the old opener away for me. I was left with a clean garage! Justin was very personable, too! I will definitely recommend Justin, Town and Country Door, and Home Advisor with confidence!!! Thanks to all!"

"Everything went great and smoothly. The tech saw the issue, knew what to fix, and offered his opinion on whether I should replace only the broken spring or both (since they were different. He left the ball in my court on what I wanted to do without pushing for a sale. I opted to replace both springs and cables on either side of the door with his recommendation. The price was in the ballpark of what I was expecting, and I wanted it done quickly (they came out by 9 am the next day after calling them at 5:30 pm the night before). I would recommend Mammtoh Door."

"Technicians examined my garage door and diagnosed the problems with it. They completed repairs the same evening and I had a brand new motor assembly which is quiet and working perfectly since. They do nice work."

"They did a good job of installing the openers and explaining their features and how to set up all the proper codes. There was a small problem with the installation where one of the brackets was pinching an electrical wire and causing it to short out. But after we had an electrician out to figure out the problem, T&C agreed it was a mistake and paid the electrician's invoice. Everyone we deal with was very friendly."

"Precision Garage Door's technician, Patrick Stevens, provided efficient service. Patrick was very pleasant, did an assessment, explained the issue in detail, and did not oversell. It was also nice that he provided service on a Sunday so I do not have to start a Monday morning with a broken garage door opener."

"This sums up the service provided: I got a quote for the original job and when Mike came to inspect the project he noted a broken part that also needed to be replaced. It was for an opener that is no longer sold. I mentioned that I had seen what I thought it was online and he checked and found just the piece that was broken. He offered to order the part - saved me 20 bucks off the part I thought I needed. And he installed the part at no additional charge. Excellent service and a great guy!"

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Richmond, MI

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
